High Fiber and Yummy too!

When I was eating like crap and not paying any attention at all to things like fiber in my diet, I was eating the worst breakfast cereals ever, nutritionally speaking. I’m not going to deny that they tasted good, but sugary cereals didn’t fill me up or stick with me for more than an hour or two. Now that I am eating the Good Carb way, I’m eating more cereal than ever, because it can be such a great source of protein and fiber.

One of my new favorites is Fiber One Raisin Bran Clusters, which I tried after I got a free sample in the mail. I used to love Raisin Bran when I was a kid, but this is definitely a more grown-up version. A one-cup serving has a whopping ELEVEN grams of fiber, which is a little less than half the total amount of fiber you need for the whole day. It’s got wheat and bran flakes, big raisins, and clusters made from bits of rice and wheat plus almonds. What I love best about this cereal is the brown sugar cinnamon flavor, and the ingredients list also includes honey and malt. So yes, there is sugar in it, but only 13 grams which isn’t bad at all , especially when you consider the four grams of protein and the 11 grams of fiber. And it tastes good!
