My goodness, there has been a fast, furious, frenzy of activity on the Blogosphere lately! Every time I turn around, there is a new contest, a new award, a new meme, I can hardly keep up! I have so many posts to write it barely seems possible, so at the risk of creating so much friction on my keyboard that it catches fire, I’m going to start with this, an award I was given by the lovely Mrs. Mo:

Check out those guns! I’d better get cracking on those FIRM workouts if I’m going to whip my flabby arms into looking like that! What exactly is a schmoozer? Darlene Tenes, CEO of Marketing Maniacs says, “The art of schmoozing is an essential social, career and life skill. Many people at the top of their fields are excellent schmoozers. They know how to connect with people and are able to leverage those connections.†Well, that describes a lot of people, but I’m supposed to tag five, so here goes:
Liz Thompson from This Full House: Click the link for her About page. Anyone who has that many blogging jobs and that many published essays must know a thing or two about leveraging her connections! That, and she’s just plain talented.
Mr. Fabulous from Pointless Drivel: His blogs are not for the faint-of-heart, and if you can’t take a little teasing, you probably shouldn’t leave him comments. But despite his tough talk, Mr. Fab has a community of loyal readers, and now a radio show on BlogTalkRadio. He can definitely schmooze.
Jenn “Mrs. Hyphenated Last Name” from Jennster’s Blog: She writes blogs, runs a message board, and treats her readers like a special friends. She is the very definition of someone who knows how to schmooze and socialize and leverage her connections. And she’s wicked hot, too
Izzy from IzzyMom: She’s a busy Mom, blogger, web designer, and author of Props and Pans, and she’s got Parent magazine sponsoring a cocktail party the night before BlogHer starts. She knows how to connect with people, all right. She has also been responsible for a major amount of this blog’s success. You ROCK, Izzy!
Julie from Mothergoosemouse: Julie never ceases to amaze me, she has seemingly limitless amounts of energy! She has two kids, writes blogs, contributes to Cool Mom Picks, runs Parent Bloggers Network along with Kristen from Motherhood Uncensored (who also deserves this award, by the way)- I’d say she knows how to schmooze!

Okay, does it matter that I am trying to get some work done, before the kids get up, and first read the award as, “The Power of Schmoozt!?!”
Seeing as my house is perhaps a little more “schmootzie” than yours, and I haven’t had my second cup of coffee yet, I would have to agree.
I’ve got the power, baby ;o)
P.S. - I’m just glad to be able to go to BlogHer, this year, as a 1st timer and rooming with such a schmoozer!
wah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for reminding me that i have a new last name! (as if i forgot) lol… RAHR at being wicked hot! i wish i felt it! ever since this damn honeymoon where i ate nonstop, i just feel wicked THICK. LOL!
MUCH LOVE AND SMOOCHES!
Thanks Elizabeth! I do try to use my schmoozing powers for good, not for evil.
And it’s kind of you to compliment my energy levels, which are at an all-time low right now.
Looking forward to seeing you this week!
Liz- Ha! You’re thinking of the word that I think is spelled “schmutz”, as in, come here son, you have a little schmutz on your face- lol!
Our room at the W? Schmoozer central! You, me, Dana, and Shannon? Four unstoppable Internet forces!
Jennster- I bet you still look as hot as ever, you California babe, you!! Did you ask Chris what he thought of taking YOUR last name and hyphenating it with his? Wouldn’t that make an excellent He Said/She Said topic?? Ha!
Julie- That was a funny comment, thanks! And everyone getting ready for BlogHer gets a pass this week as far as energy is concerned. I was up until, no lie, 4:45 a.m. this morning, working on blog posts for my Wordpress.com blog, which is what I am teaching to new bloggers on Saturday! GAH!! Can you believe *I* am the one answering the questions, instead of asking them, for a change? Only took me two years!
