Halloween the movie, that is. On August 31st, former rocker-turned writer and director Rob Zombie’s version of the classic horror film will be released in theaters. Want a sneak peek? Watch this:
My one-word review? SWEET! It looks awesome! Parts of it reminded me of The Grudge, my favorite scary movie, especially the scene with the person walking down the dimly lit hallway with the flickering fluorescent lights. This is not a remake of the original Halloween movie, this is an entirely new take on the story, focusing on young Michael Myers, who survives an attack on his family but goes insane, and then comes back to find the sister he left behind.
I’m not that familiar with Rob Zombie as a musician, but I know who he is, and I looked him up on IMDb-he has been a busy guy in the last few years. He got his start as a production assistant on PeeWee’s Playhouse, did you know that? For the last four years he has been writing horror movies and songs for soundtracks, and I am excited to see his take on Halloween. The original movie was written in 1978, so I’m expecting to see cool special effects, makeup and lighting, that will scare the pants off of even the most jaded moviegoers. Plus, there’s a song listed on IMDb as being on the soundtrack, a Rob Zombie song titled “Sawdust in the blood”, so you know the music is going to rock.
I want to see Halloween the movie! But as you know, my husband won’t take me to see them, because he is a big chicken. Anyone want to drive to Lansing and see a scary movie? Popcorn’s on me!

Sounds interesting! I’m gonna check it out. I love scary movies.

Excellent, all I have to do is hear the music and I am terrified.
I’m a big fan of his music and I loved House of 1000 corpses. Definitely gonna check this out when I can. He’s great at capturing that 70s horror movie vibe.
Kid Reviewer- I love scary movies too! Which is weird, because I’m pretty much afraid of everything else:)
