When I first got the email asking if I would like to try a new kitchen gadget called the One Click Butter Cutter, I’ll admit, I snickered a little. It reminded me of a page from The “B” book, but I was intrigued, so I said yes, and received one free in exchange for this review.
The One Click Butter Cutter has now become, next to my mini food chopper, my absolute favorite kitchen gadget. We use it every day! A stick of unwrapped, cold butter goes in the top. As you squeeze, the butter is pushed down and then a wire slices across, cutting off a perfect 35 calorie portion!
It’s easy enough for the kids to use, although Nathan has to use two hands. It’s a lot easier than trying to hack off a slice of butter with a table knife, and because the butter has to stay cold for it to work, your butter is always fresh. If you buy one-don’t let the butter sit out and get warm, or it won’t come out-trust me
So, what’s the story behind the Butter Cutter? Paul Wilhelm, of Hopewell Jct., NY, thought it would be nice to be able to quickly reach into the refrigerator and pull out something that would
quickly lob off a few slices of butter. That idea was the beginning of 10 years of development into what is now the One Click Butter Cutter, for which he holds the patent. Wilhelm designed it primarily for its usefulness, but users have reported that it is helpful to people with Arthritis in their hands because it is easier to handle than a knife. It’s a combination butter dish/butter slicer, stores standing up in the fridge so it takes up less room than a butter dish, and best of all-NO CRUMBS. Some people get really grossed out by finding toast crumbs in the butter, don’t you? Everyone gets a clean pat of butter, and even though it’s cold, we have found that the thin pats melt fairly quickly onto a warm dinner roll or into a serving of vegetables.
I recommend this gadget! It’s fun, it’s functional, it does what it says! Visit the website to buy one for $19.95 plus S&H, or buy one for yourself and one for a gift, two are only $34.95 plus S&H. I promise you’ll love it!

Wow! This is really conventional and practical. I’ll really get myself one of these.
i do agree it is convenience but do we really need it? besides, is it convenice when putting the butter into the cutter? i rather the the butter by myself..(self-opinion)
butter cutter? something new..but i prefer to cut it myself as maybe i want it in a bigger piece or a smaller piece either in a special sharp.
i guess it is convenience for me so that i can have a quick breakfast in the morning. but how to put the butter in the cutter, is that any special butter for that cutter? or any butter will do?
i guess i saw this somewhere, i mean before this article…anywhere i guess this is convenience for those people which is very busy until not time to cut butter, maybe they might need it but not for me.
Wallace-The Butter Cutter would be a great gadget to buy someone older with arthritis in their hands, which makes even using a table knife to cut a piece of butter difficult. It’s also a lot of fun for kids, and lets them help participate in the meal by putting the butter on their bread themselves. That’s why I like it so much!
Andreas-You might not see a use for it, but the Butter Cutter would make a great gift to give someone with arthritis in their hands, or someone who just likes neat kitchen gadgets!
i bought the one click butter cutter about a month ago and i just love it!! We’re trying to watch the calories and it gives just enough for a piece of toast or whatnot, its convinient and actually kinda neat. we use it daily and it cuts down on the mess BIG TIME when me and my son cook, instead of me having to help him w the knife he can just do it himself!! i recommend this product to any homemaker or mother out there
