Confess to the Demon Barber!
Written by Elizabeth on November 28, 2007 – 11:44 pm -Sweeney Todd. The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have teamed up once again to bring Stephen Sondheim’s musical to life on the big screen. Also starring Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sascha Baron Cohen, Sweeney Todd is not going to be the typical feel-good family Christmas flick, but it is going to be SO good. And it’s a musical! Johnny Depp sings!
To see a preview of the movie, visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site, where you can also download wallpapers and screensavers, register for movie updates, grab the trailer, see TV clips and Depp in the studio, and so much more. For you MySpace users, you can visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace, where the site already has over 45,000 friends. And then you can visit the site on Buzznet, and post your own written confession about a time you got your revenge!
The plot of Sweeney Todd involves a man who is thrown into prison for 18 years, and when he comes out, he vows to exact his revenge on those who have wronged him, which has something to do with the wife and daughter he left behind. He sets up shop as a barber, but the people who come in for a shave never come back out. On the Buzznet site, you can call the Sweeney Todd Confession Line, post a video or write your confession and post it, to get it off of your chest!
For example, I might write about this one time in college when Chris and I had sort of broken up, and this guy was an unbelievable ass to me at a party, so I kind of got my revenge on him. It sounds so stupid now, but at the time, I actually enjoyed watching him squirm. Our dorm had a message system (this was 1985, there was no email yet) where you could leave a written message at the front desk for someone, and then they would call the person in their room to come down and get the message. I did that like six times a day for about a week, and I wrote what I thought were cryptically clever, unsigned notes to him. I suppose in my daydreams he finally realized how horrible he had been to me and came crawling back to apologize, but that never happened. But see! I confessed! Now, you can go confess too, at the Confess to the Demon Barber Confessional!
