Have you seen the commercial for the Hooked on Phonics reading program? A Mom and her son are sitting in a waiting room with a few other Moms and kids, and the son is reading out loud out of a book.
One Mom asks, “how old is he?” The son’s Mom says “four”. Another Mom asks “is he in kindergarten?” and another one asks “how did you teach him?”
Now, this would have been the perfect opportunity for the son’s Mom to do some word of mouth marketing and say “oh, I bought him the Hooked on Phonics program” etc. etc. But instead, what is her reply?
“Oh, we’ve been practicing.”
What the heck kind of answer is that? And she says it with a really condescending smile like “I’m not telling YOU how my kid learned to read”. It’s just so…weird.

Come to think of it, that is weird. Whoever writes these commercials, anyway?
I tagged you. I know, it’s not a review, but I figured it can’t hurt to link to you.
