When you were a kid and had a bad cold, did your Mom rub Vicks VapoRub on your chest? Mine did, and not only did it help my nose not feel so stuffy, but it gave me that warm feeling that my Mom really cared about me. When we are sick, or feeling down, or having a hard time, it’s our caregivers that help us through. And Vicks, the company that makes products like NyQuil, VapoRub, and Formula 44D, is paying tribute to those caregivers with their Vicks Caring Tributes contest.
Vicks is having a video contest, and if you want to enter, you can submit a video by January 31st, 2008 in which you tell about a time that you really felt comforted or cared for. The details are on the contest page under the Video Guidelines link.
You could win a Grand Prize of a week’s stay at a resort along with airfare, cash, and gifts, valued at $10,000! There are other great prizes as well. And, you can win a prize from me just for following the rules for my giveaway:

So, what great Kiehl’s products can you win? Oh, people. I am probably the last person on the planet to use Kiehl’s, seeing as how I am on more of a Suave budget, but now that I have sampled the products, I think I’m hooked! I couldn’t find the exact gift set that I received, but it is similar to this one:
Except mine had hand salve instead of the Facial Moisturizer. So what the winner gets in their gift pack could vary. But I’ve tried the Lip Balm, which I love, and the Hand salve absorbs quickly and has no smell at all, which is nice. I always read about Kiehl’s products on other blogs, I’m so happy I have some now!

WOW! My mom did too! It was best thing ever when I had a cold. In fact, I still do it myself and it simply reminds me of my mom and being a kid.
Unfortunately my own son can’t stand it
Orillius-You know what? The last time I had a really, really bad cold and could barely breathe through my nose, I tried rubbing some Vick’s on my throat and upper chest before bed, thinking it would help me breathe better-and I couldn’t stand it! It felt weird and kind of itchy, I ended up wiping it off!
But I LOVE the Vicks VapoSteam-you add it to the water in a steam vaporizer, and then you breathe the moist medicated air while you sleep. I also like the Vicks inhaler and the Early Defense spray. I get a lot of colds, can you tell? lol
