Advertise your business on the side of your car

If you are a small business owner, you know that advertising can be expensive. Finding creative ways to let people know who you are, what you do, and how to contact you is important for any business, and here’s an idea you might not have thought of-car magnets.
Every time you leave your car in the parking lot at Target or the grocery store or the Mall or a sporting event, think of all the people walking by who could be potential customers. VistaPrint, my favorite source for business cards, has easily customizable car door magnets that can advertise your business for you wherever you are. Just for an example, I made this:

VistaPrint offers premade designs or you can upload your own, as well as customize colors and fonts for additional fees. One magnet is $9.99, with significant discounts for additional magnets. VistaPrint has a Satisfaction Guarantee- if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, simply contact Customer Support within 30 days from the date you receive it (or the date it was scheduled to arrive) and they will refund the full price of the product(s) in question, excluding shipping and processing costs.
Use your car as a mobile advertising service and spread the word about your business with a car magnet from VistaPrint!

LOL! I was just saying to Rich that I would totally drive a yellow mini van sponsored by cheerios if they would pay our grocery bill and car payment!
this family, brought to you by Cheerios!
I would draw the line at Twinkies, though.

Mimi-I would drive a TwinkieMobile if the pay was good enough
We had a neighbor that spent about $500 getting custom magnetic signs done up for his truck last summer. He found a local shop that did a great job, they looked wonderful. That is right up until they were swiped while watching a ball game in the city.
I wonder how painting your car to look like a twinkie would effect resale value!

That is a great idea. I have seen these people with the adverts on their cars and wondered what was really going on with these. If there are people willing to do this, then I guess there’s a market for it.

I had a friend go on craigslist and found a business that was willing to pay them a couple hundred bucks a week to drive around with the big magnets on the side of their SUV. I was tempted to do it, but decided not to. That site would make it easy to start your own business and have people pay you to create them and put it on the side of your vehicle.
Definitely going to look into it. Thanks for the link and idea.
My company, Web-Magnets.com, is now offering free business card magnets. It is a do-it-yourself kit.
Would you be willing to review the product in your blog? I will give you a coupon for 25% off the shipping costs if you contact me and agree to review the product in your blog.

Hi Elizabeth,
Do you know if they ship these car magnets internationally?

VistaPrint is OK, but there are better online shops out there that have thicker, better quality, card stock. I recommend http://www.4focusfx.com . Usually, if you call them directly, they’ll give you some new customer deals if they have any… (800) 585-9315.
What I tend to see a lot online nowadays are deals for “16pt business cards”. 4FocusFX seems to carry a lot of that and their prices are on the cheaper side… the other day I placed an order for 1000 business cards and they charged me only $49 (pretty good considering the fact that they were full color front and back).
I’m sure they have similar deals with car magnets.
