Win a coupon for Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta

by Elizabeth on April 15, 2008

Last Friday night, instead of our usual take-out or frozen pizza for dinner, we had a pasta dinner delivered right to our door from Pizza Hut. Thanks to the great people at the Zeno Group, we got two huge pans of pasta from the new Tuscani menu, plus ten breadsticks. I thought with five of us, we would need two orders of pasta, but really, one was enough for one dinner with me adding a vegetable on the side.

The new Tuscani Pastas come in two varieties-Meaty Marinara, and Creamy Chicken Alfredo. Each comes with five breadsticks and is meant to serve four. The pastas are made fresh to order, not defrosted. They also delivered thick Chinet paper plates and plastic forks, so I didn’t even have to do dishes afterwards-score!

Photobucket We had an interesting experience with these two pastas. That first night, we all preferred the Creamy Chicken Alfredo, because the Meaty Marinara was greasy. It turned the bottoms of the paper plates orange! The sauce for the Alfredo was tasty if a bit bland, and the chicken strips were plentiful although made from processed chicken giving them a slightly spongy consistency.

The second night, I microwaved the leftovers for the kids and I. While the Alfredo still tasted the same, we were surprised to find that the Marinara flavor had improved from an overnight rest in the fridge. The sauce had soaked more into the noodles and the greasiness had disappeared. Both Ryan and I agreed that the Marinara was much tastier that second night. He suggested we order it and refrigerate it overnight on purpose!

If you’ve been curious to try the Tuscani Pastas, I have a coupon for a free Pasta dinner to give away to two readers. The coupon is good for one dinner for four, which includes one of the pastas and five breadsticks. You will need to have a Pizza Hut in your area in order to enter, so if you aren’t sure, you can check on the Pizza Hut website for the nearest location. For one entry, leave a comment on this post and tell me which of the two pastas you are looking forward to trying.

Not required but much appreciated- subscribing to the feed in a reader or by email (links at the top of the page), adding this blog to your Technorati Favorites, and/or mentioning the giveaway on your blog with a link back to this post. The approximate value of the prize is $12.00, and the giveaway ends April 25th at 9 AM ET. I will contact the winner for their mailing address. Good luck!

Ok, I’ll bite (hahahaha) – I think we’d do the marinara and throw it in the fridge for the next night also.

Putting pasta on a menu of a pizza place is an interesting move. (Though it does make a lot of sense). We’ll have to see if it sticks.
