What I have done is actaully tried to set my kids up in thear own home biz, given them an allowance to run it and actually have an account at the bank set up and also a paypal account --of course I authorize puchases,,,,if they do not get ahead they learn their limits quicker than I do. Has really helped with the allowance thing. My 6 year old especially loves checking her statement & watching her goal get closer & closer. The idea is to make it fun for KIDS to learn how to manage money. Sure you could write it down for them on a piece of paper, but fun interactive software is much more appealing to kids!
