Win a Cahootie! A What? Read This!
Giveaway Closed. Congratulations to Shilo, Mariana and ValMG for winning their choice of Cahootie!
When I was in school, we called them Fortune Tellers or Cootie Catchers. A piece of paper folded so that there was spaces for your thumbs and fingers, with triangles folded over in flaps.
Under each flap you wrote something, the names of boys in your class was a popular one, and then you pushed the flaps together and back a certain number of times and then revealed the “secret” answer. Remember those?
That fun slumber party game has been reinvented as Cahootie. Toy company Green Rock Entertainment predicts that even today’s computer-using, text-sending, high-tech tweens will love this old-fashioned paper game.
Cahootie is the invention of screenwriter and entrepreneur Jeffrey Jurgensen, who wrote the screenplay for the huge hit movie “Agent Cody Banks” and the sequel “Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London”. But his passion was for creating kids toys and games, and he had come up with the Cahootie idea over 10 years earlier. So in 2005 he left Los Angeles, moved to Chicago, and started Green Rock Entertainment to market Cahootie.
Cahootie comes in six fun versions-Truth or Dare, Wishes & Dreams, Birthday Wishes, Sporty Girl, and for fans of politics, Republican and Democrat. What makes Cahootie even better than its homemade inspiration is the rip-resistant paper, 40 reusable stickers and a keepsake display case. Since each game comes with 40 peel-and-stick fortunes, the game can be constantly refreshed. This high-quality, social-interaction game allows tweens and teens to be surprised with what’s revealed at the end of each round of play. Cahootie is 100% made in the U.S. and sold at more than 600 retail outlets nationwide.
The eye-catching packaging won the American Package Design Award for its retail category. Each see-through box includes game instructions, helpful tips, peel and stick fortunes and a durable Cahootie. Priced at just $5.95, Cahootie is a perfect birthday party favor, treat to pass out at a slumber party, or a fun surprise to hand out in the car while traveling.
Directions lead players to the interactive website where everyone can join Club Cahootie. Of course, Cahootie’s designers understand that girls may still want to make a homemade game, hence they offer a free download template to design their own theme. The Cahootie website encourages young artists to photograph their creations and submit them online to be shared with other Club members. The “Cool Downloads” page has the free template, as well as a page to create stickers for two of the games, and free quotes to use.
I have three Cahooties to give away and the winners choose which version they want! For ONE entry, please do the following:
* Visit the Cahootie website and on the Cahootie Collection page, browse the six versions. Then come back here and tell me in your comment which style you will choose if you win. Only comments with that information will count.
