A Message to Readers of MomReviews

My dearest, sweetest, loveliest readers, I know it probably drives you crazy that every time you come here, the theme has changed yet again. I’m breaking one of the biggest rules for how NOT to look like a new blogger. I’m supposed to find a theme and stick with it, so that every time you come here, you know exactly what to expect.

But, I am NOT SATISFIED. This theme that I have now, it’s close, but it’s just not quite right. I like the width, how it takes up most of the screen rather than be squished into the middle like so many free blog themes are. I like that it has room for my four BlogQuake ads, but, I don’t know, there’s just something missing. Something that says “hey look! It’s the MomReviews blog!”

*le sigh* I just want it to be perfect for YOU, because YOU are the ones coming here to read! It’s all you, you, YOU! So, I’ll keep looking, trying new things, and one of these days, I just might have to pay for a custom design so that it’s everything I want. Feel free to leave suggestions about themes, too. If I ever have one that you just don’t like, go ahead and say so, it won’t hurt my feelings, I promise :)

    Hi Elizabeth ~
Thanks for stopping by my blog & leaving the lovely comments on the design! Don’t fret – I’m still trying to find my ‘niche’ too ~ but I have Gram brain & just decided to let it go at that, and whatever I decide to write about…so be it!

I think I would put a little white space above your pictures so it does not look like y’all are tab heads. The header looks squished. Tabs can go down the side of the template as well. Tie the blue and the green together with a background with both or use that for the blog background. Just my 2c…

CyberCelt-I really appreciate you leaving your suggestions, thanks! I know what you mean about the header-tab heads, ha!. I put those photos together in photoshop, I can try putting a frame around them so there’s some space at the top.

As for the background, I know how to change one solid color to another solid color, but I’m not familiar with how to add a pattern to the background. Is there a website that has codes for patterns and if so, could you forward me the link? I’d sure appreciate it!

    Hello Elizabeth,

I’ve been a reader and a subscriber to Momreviews.net for a couple of weeks now. First off, it’s the content that counts. You have great posts :) In my opinion, the overall look is okay, but it needs a little work. You need a logo. Something that would stick to readers’ heads. Your header image needs work too. I can work out a logo for you if I can find sometime. If you want to go DIY, here’s a site that might help:

    Hope that helps :D

I understand you perfectly. I’ve been struggling with one of my blogs template. I’ve tried a few templates and they never look like the one I want.

You are not the only one who has that problem. But at the end, its a matter of what you write and not the colors and settings around. Take your time to make a final decision. I dont think no one here will mind.

Anyway, you give us some cool ideas for our blogs too ;)

Finding the right theme for a blog is difficult. I thought of using a paid one, but I can never find one that I really like

You’re lucky you can change yours and have that flexibility. We wish we could change ours! Choose something that makes you smile anytime you come here. Maybe ask your readers what they think.
