There has recently been a survey done in the UK which tested the cleanliness of peoples hands. The results were, quite simply, appalling. I won't go into detail here, but let's just say a lot of people (men and women) aren't washing their hands properly after visiting the bathroom.
My husband, who is very good at washing his hands, read the results and then refused to touch the trolley when we went supermarket shopping for fear of what he might pick up. I'm a firm beliver in a few germs being necessary to keep our natural defences on their toes, but these results were downright disgusting.
