Aimed specifically at kids ages 6-11, Life’s Building Blocks is a series of Chapter books, Activity books, a board game, and now a fun stuffed Chameleon named Zaki.  Each of the six chapter books focuses on a different aspect of character-Honesty, Courage, Self-Control, Kindness, Perseverance, and Fairness. Each book features a member of the “Spruce Street Six”, six best friends who learn important lessons about making choices while having adventures together.

Zaki the Chameleon is a character in the books, and now he’s a stuffed singing plush toy as well. Turn him on and he sings a song about choices, and the plastic spines on his back light up red (stop), yellow (think), or green (go).  He kind of scares Kaitlyn a little, but Nathan likes him:

Also, at the end of book six, there’s a URL kids can go to (with parents’ permission) to find questions they can answer about the books, then email their answers and get a coupon code good for a discount on the next set of books. The books, the toy, the site, they all work together to give parents and educators a great way to teach kids important life lessons.
