Ring in the New Year with Ultimate Meatballs

I don’t often get to talk about food when I do a blog tour, so I was happy to join the Mom Central “Ultimate Meatball” campaign. What are Ultimate Meatballs?  Three ingredients that go together in a snap to make a totally tasty appetizer or even main dish.  I made them for my kids and I to eat for dinner one night last week,  and we gobbled them right up! Here’s what you need:

This is the super-easy recipe:

Ingredients

* 1 16-ounce can Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce
* 1 12-ounce bottle Heinz® Chili Sauce
* 1 2-pound bag frozen, pre-cooked, cocktail-size meatballs

Directions

Combine sauces in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth*. Add meatballs. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are heated through, stirring occasionally.

Makes 30 appetizer servings.

Slow cooker Preparation: Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Combine sauces and pour over meatballs. Cover and cook 4 hours on HIGH.

*Note: I found that the cranberry sauce took a long time to completely smooth out, about 15 minutes just for that. I then put the meatballs in and turned the burner down to medium-low and let the meatballs sit for about 30 minutes, stirring about every 10, until they were all coated with sauce.

I had a heck of a time getting a good photo since I had them in a white Corning dish on a white counter, but this is what the finished meatballs looked like:
