My favorite recipe to use with my Thermal Cooler is a big batch of healthy fruit smoothies, like this Hamilton Beach Fruit Smoothie with Heart:

* 1 cup nonfat milk
* ½ cup low fat flavored or plain yogurt
* ¼ cup honey
* 2 cups frozen fruit – mixture of choice,
* 1 banana
* ¼ cup ice

  1. Place ingredients in blender jar in order listed.*
  2. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.

*Always place liquid ingredients in blender first.

Serves: 2-4

I give this product two big thumbs up and would like to thank Hamilton Beach for sending me the Thermal Cooler plus Blender for this review!

Obama: The Historic Journey-Young Reader’s Edition

Obama historic journey bookI was thrilled to be asked to review the New York Times book Obama: The Historic Journey: Young Reader’s Edition .  This wonderful book combines beautiful photographs and in-depth coverage of Obama’s voyage from “a skinny kid with a funny name” to the 44th President of the United States.  Readers learn about the Primaries, the Electoral College, as well as personal information about Mrs. Obama and the First Daughters Sasha and Malia.

I think this is a terrific book for kids and parents alike.   Amazon.com recommends it for readers ages 9-12,  younger kids may not be able to understand the text, but they will surely enjoy looking at the pictures.  To purchase it from Amazon using my affiliate link (which earns me a few cents, thank you!),  click the link at the beginning of the post.
