Your Spacious Self Book Giveaway

by Elizabeth on June 1, 2009

bookcoverWhen I received a copy of Your Spacious Self: Clear Your Clutter and Discover Who You Are by Stephanie Bennett Vogt, it was just the book I needed. I knew I needed to declutter my house, not just to bring order to it, but to bring myself back into balance. If I look around and all I see is clutter, it makes me feel mentally cluttered as well.

The author of the book, Stephanie Bennett Vogt, M.A., is New England’s leading expert in the field of space clearing. Stephanie is the founder of SpaceClear, a private practice dedicated to bringing homes and their occupants back into balance.

Your Spacious Self will help you:
• Identify core beliefs that keep you stuck in old habits.
• Discover the nourishing power of “putting away every day.”
• Learn how clearing a little bit works better than binge-clearing a lot all at once.
• Experience how self care supports release (or real ease).
• Adopt a six-week clearing practice that is easy to modify to fit your needs and busy schedule.
• Start your own clutter clearing support “circle” if you so choose.
• Invite wonder, not worry, into your life.

WIN IT: I’ve got two copies of Your Spacious Self: Clear Your Clutter and Discover Who You Are to give away. For your main entry, leave a comment on this post telling me what your biggest clutter challenge is. You must do this before any extra entries will be counted.

RULES: Open to U.S. only. Enter by Monday, June 8th 2009.  When filling out the comment field, be sure you enter your correct email address. I will contact the two randomly chosen winners, collect their mailing information, and forward it to the sponsor for shipping.

EXTRA ENTRIES: I’ll give you one extra entry for each of the following that you do or have done. Leave a separate comment for each.

  • Follow me on Twitter (link is in the top right of header) and tweet the giveaway, leave the link to your tweet
  • Subscribe to my feed or email updates (links are in the top right of header), leave a comment telling me which you did
  • Mention the giveaway in a blog post with a link back to this post, leave your URL in your comment
  • Add my link to your blogroll or post my button, leave your URL

My biggest clutter spot is my closet. I have a tendency to put things from all the holidays and there is not order to the clothing in there. I also have yarn in there because I figure I’ll use it to knit a project at some point.

my biggest problem is keeping the underneath cubbards in my bathrooms organized…

3 samantha jo campen June 1, 2009 at 8:32 pm

My biggest clutter challenge is paperwork. We don’t have an office (we’re in a 2 BR apartment and that room is the nursery) so we have no place for office-y papers. We have piles everywhere!

My biggest clutter problems are clothes (too many) and gifts. I have a problem getting rid of things that someone gave me even if I don’t have room for it.

18 Susan C June 2, 2009 at 9:02 am

My biggest clutter problems are my kitchen cupboards. I have so many kitchen gadgets, but I can’t use them because they are all jumbled together. I need to weed some of them out, so I can put the others to good use.

22 Mary M. June 2, 2009 at 3:03 pm

My biggest clutter challenge is not putting things away because that would require several more steps (move this, shelve that, etc), so I just don’t do any of it.

23 Angela J June 2, 2009 at 3:06 pm

34 Dave June 4, 2009 at 10:21 pm

My biggest clutter problem is that I am by nature a pack rat. I tend to save everything, thinking it might come in useful someday. Well, if I had my own warehouse, that wouldn’t be a problem, but in my little home that means clutter. Hopefully this book will help. Thank you for the chance to win.

35 Phyllis June 5, 2009 at 1:25 am

My biggest clutter challenge is that I am afraid to get rid of things that I might need later. Help!

36 barbara wright June 5, 2009 at 10:41 am

Even though I know I’m not supposed to leave stuff on top of the microwave, somehow all the junk in the house gravitates to it.

37 Leilani June 5, 2009 at 11:48 am

My biggest clutter challenge is PAPER! Mail, documents, receipts. I need help!

38 sarah June 5, 2009 at 1:26 pm

My biggest clutter challenge is my bedroom. I have no room for my clothes and jewelry!

39 Marjorie June 5, 2009 at 3:17 pm

Daily paperwork. It ends up being mounds of paper to sort… which too often isn’t done in a timely way.

40 Lunchbox Obsessed June 5, 2009 at 10:20 pm

My biggest clutter challenge is our dining room table (pathetic, I know!). The mail ends up there, and the piles just get bigger and bigger.

41 Marianna June 6, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Paper! I have tons of papers and things to file and I just can’t seem to get started. I think my mother created a packrat in me and I’m afraid to get rid of things for sentimental reasons. Sad.

42 Carol S June 6, 2009 at 7:29 pm

My biggest clutter challenge is the bedroom. There is just no organization for anything so it just gets piled up everywhere. Thanks for the chance

46 Benita June 6, 2009 at 10:01 pm

My biggest clutter problem seems to be visible everywhere. It is really difficult for me to part with things. Everything has meaning or I may fit into it, or there’s got to be a use for it. I do try to organize, but there is more in the apartment than there is room for.

47 Kim F June 7, 2009 at 5:45 am

My biggest clutter problem? Shoes and Paper.

48 Erma H June 7, 2009 at 6:42 am

49 Kate June 7, 2009 at 2:22 pm

60 Jay F. June 8, 2009 at 12:13 am

Our office, which is in a back room in the house, is a catch all for clutter. But the kitchen has to be the one I want to see clean first – it is what visitors would see, with piles and piles of papers.
