Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser- Great product, Great price!

by Elizabeth on August 12, 2009

AlboleneSome moms may know Albolene® as a gentle, skin moisturizing, makeup remover; it also has a new, clinically-proven use for the treatment of mild to moderate eczema, according to a new study in the March 2009 issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. Albolene is just as effective as a leading prescription moisturizer, Mimyx® in the reduction of dryness, scaling, itching, redness and peeling related to mild to moderate eczema. And, Albolene costs a fraction of the price and has widespread availability in the drug store for a suggested retail price of $9.95 for a 12–ounce jar. Although the study focused on eczema sufferers 18 and older, Albolene is as safe and effective on children, according to dermatologist David Bank, MD.

For the 10 percent of babies and children suffering from eczema, it is important to find a safe and effective, non-drug treatment to quickly stop the itch.   Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser is readily available in stores or at online stores like Drugstore.com,  and has been clinically proven for the treatment of mild to moderate eczema. Albolene is made with mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, and ceresin which provide superior skin moisturization by trapping the moisture, which is a key factor in treating eczema in both children and adults.

I received a sample-size tube of Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser to try for this review, and I used it two ways- one, as an eye makeup remover. I wear waterproof mascara which is tough to get off. A little dab of Albolene on a cotton pad removed all the mascara and the skin around my eyes felt moisturized and soft afterwards. I also used it on my extremely dry heels and found that my skin looked and felt less dry right away and it lasted until the next day. I’m sold!

Moisturizer is a definite must for any skin care regimine. The problem with some more expensive products is that they can have preservatives and additives that actually cause skin reactions.

Be careful of skin care products which have additives and preservatives which can be irritating to the skin.
