Kroger Gift Card Giveaway

by Elizabeth on August 24, 2009

This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to the winner, commenter #33 Kimberly, who said:

Our biggest expense is for coffee and meat. We’re all coffee drinkers and the men in this family are definitely “meat and potatoes” kind of guys!
Thanks for the chance to win!

Kroger banner_logo_header Last week I wrote about the Mega Savings Event going on at   the  Kroger Co. of stores  until September 2nd.  To thank me for   helping spread the word, Kroger Co. sent me a $30 gift card for myself, and has agreed to send another $30 gift card to a giveaway winner. I can’t guarantee you’ll get it in time to use during the Mega Event, but my experience with Kroger stores is that there are always good deals going on, and $30 will definitely help with grocery costs!

Before you enter, make sure you can use the gift card if you win! These are the grocery stores listed on the Kroger Co. home page, I assume the gift card is good at any of them:

Kroger, Ralph’s, King Soopers, CityMarket, Dillon’s, Smith’s, Fry’s, QFC, Baker’s, Owens, Jay C, Hilanders, Gerbes, Pay-Less, and Scott’s.

WIN IT: For your main entry, leave a comment on this post telling me what your biggest expense is at the grocery store. Do you spend a lot of money on good quality meat? Organic produce? Milk for growing kids? Baby formula? I’m just curious!

RULES: Enter by Monday, August 31st at 12:00 pm EST.  If your comment just says “thanks” or “great site” or anything spammy, it will be DELETED. If you use KEYWORDS instead of a real first name or blog name, your comment will be DELETED. I’m not dumb, I know your momma didn’t name you “baby blankets” or “real estate arizona”. Open to U.S. 18 + only.

BONUS ENTRIES: I”ll give you one extra entry for each of the following that you do or have done. Leave a separate comment for each:

  • Subscribe to MomReviews using the RSS links at the top right of the screen.
  • Stumble this post, add it to Digg or Kirtsy or any other social bookmarking site. Leave your username in your comment.
  • Fave MomReviews on Technorati. Click the link, then under the thumbnail screenshot, click Favorite it. Leave your Technorati URL in your comment, I’ll fave back!
  • Blog about the giveaway with a link back. Leave the URL in your comment.
  • Tweet the giveaway, follow me @Table4Five if you don’t already. You can tweet once a day, leave a new comment for each.Enter to win a $30 Kroger stores gift card from @Table4Five’s blog MomReviews ends 8/31 http://bit.ly/1epOt

Thanks for entering and good luck everybody!

My biggest expense is probably cleaning stuff, don’t you think? Laundry, house, baths, and if that’s not enough, shampoos, medicines–so maybe it’s the pharmacy. Allergy meds and contact lens solution, AHHH!

Biggest expense is meat of all kinds — doesn’t seem to matter what we do or how we plan, meat tops the list of expenses.

My biggest expense is diapers, because I have a 3 year-old who I still buy training pants for in case of accidents and at bedtime, and I have a 19 month-old in diapers. Cheap ones always seem to leak easily or come apart easily or cause rashes, so I buy Pampers which always work. But, they’re expensive.

My biggest food expense in meat. I try to stock up when I can find a sale. I have the worst trouble finding a deal on chicken. My in-laws gave me a full cooler of fresh, ground beef last week, so we’re set on that for awhile. With 4 kids that’s a huge help!
