SlimShots Review

by Elizabeth on November 3, 2009

As a member of FuelMyBlog, I was given the opportunity to review SlimShots, the liquid appetite suppressant.  The product claims to be proven to increase the feeling of satiety (which means the feeling of being full, of having had enough to eat), by triggering the body’s “ileal brake”, the body’s natural appetite control mechanism.

I signed up to do the review because it looks just like a little cup of coffee creamer like on tables at restaurants, I figured I could pour it in my coffee in the morning. I received a box of the Chocolate flavor, and the first morning, I added it to a cup of coffee, stirred, and then took a sip to see if it needed more sweetener or anything else. The flavor, I’m sorry to say, was awful. I really wanted to like it, because I could certainly use appetite suppressants. I just couldn’t get past the thin, chalky taste.

I emailed the person who contacted me about doing the review and let her know that I wasn’t going to be posting a positive review. I’m not telling anyone not to buy it, someone else might enjoy the taste. And I didn’t try the Vanilla, which might taste better, I don’t know. They asked for my review, and this is it. Chocolate SlimShots, not a fan.

My name is Robin Bonnema. I am a VP of Health and Beauty with SlimShots. It is unfortunate that you didn’t care for the product’s taste, but it should be understood that the tool is not intended to be a candy or food. SlimShots is very mildly flavored and has a slightly oaty taste. It was never intended as or designed to be a “treat”. The product, in Europe, is actually sold unflavored – literally in its natural oat/palm oil water-based emulsion. The U.S. tends to put emphasis on flavor – which may have something to do with our overweight and obesity rate. The point is this, SlimShots works. The all natural active ingredient took 10 years to develop and has 7 peer-reviewed clinical trials and papers published in THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF OBESITY, the EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF CLINICAL NUTRITION, and the SCANDINAVIAN JOURNAL OF GASTROENTEROLOGY. One shot, taken at breakfast, helps you eat up to 30% less all day without even trying! That can amount to hundreds of calories less each day of use – thousands a week! If you have ever tried to diet and felt starved or deprived of food, this tool may help you stay on track. It costs about a buck a day compared to some products $2.50 or more. (30 ct. retails at $39.99) No caffeine, no jitters, and no embarrassing side effects. SlimShots works with the body’s natural processes to help you eat less and it’s as wholesome as the food on your table. If you are trying to eat less every day, without even trying – that one teeny tiny SlimShots in the morning is your absolute best bet. It’s that simple.

Robin, if you want people to actually use your product here in the states, it has to taste good or people aren’t going to use it. It doesn’t matter that it works if people aren’t using it. I’d rather not use a product at all than eat or drink something that doesn’t taste good.
