Holiday Gift Guide- Boom Blox Bash Party for Wii

by Elizabeth on November 13, 2009

BoomBloxBashI know that the original Boom Blox game was a big hit for Nintendo when the Wii first came out, but I had never played it. Now that I’ve played the follow-up game, Boom Blox Bash Party, I can see why it was so popular!  This game is TOTALLY ADDICTIVE!  It seems like such a simple concept, use the WiiMote to “throw” a ball at stacked blocks and try to knock them all down in the fewest number of throws, but it’s not that easy!  In this game, there are more than FOUR HUNDRED single and multiplayer levels, and you have to use all your powers of deduction to figure out how to successfully clear each level.

And, the towers of blocks aren’t just ordinary blocks, either. There are Virus Blox that cause a chain reaction and “infect” all the blocks in their path, Chemical Blox that explode when they touch each other, and purple Vanish Blox that just disappear when hit, causing the blocks on top to fall down.  With the ability to move the camera angle almost all the way around, you just figure out a strategy and let the WiiMote fly, hoping you are aiming at the right spot!

Boom Blox Bash Party is an affordable option as far as Wii games go, at only $27.99 on Amazon. It’s a great holiday gift idea!
