Well, it was only a matter of time before Mattel took advantage of the Twilight craze and came out with dolls. I saw the Twilight Barbie Bella Doll and the Twilight Edward Doll at Target over the weekend. What’s interesting to me is that while the Edward doll at least sort of looks like Edward, the Bella doll just looks like any other Barbie. I would have thought they would have tried to make it a little more, well, Bella-looking.
Twilight Barbie Bella comes dressed in a blue-grey jacket with four pockets on the front and a gold zipper, dark wash jeans, and silvery tennis shoes with white soles. She has long dark hair. Twilight Edward is wearing a blue button-down shirt, a grey wool peacoat, dark wash jeans, and black lace up shoes. He has brown hair that stands up on the top and the doll’s skin is a lighter color than the Bella doll. You can buy each doll separately or together in a two-pack. I’ve been collecting Barbie dolls for many years & I was also disappointed in the Bella doll -I know there are other face molds Mattel could’ve used so the doll would look more like Kristen -Edward looks ok, but I would’ve preferred a less pale version -Photos of the upcoming Jacob doll are also not what I expected -I’m planning to buy extra dolls & repaint them to look more like the actors
