You could star in a TV commercial for Cranium!

The makers of Cranium, the award-winning board game that gives players a chance to act, sculpt, sketch, hum, solve puzzles, and more, has announced that there is an all-new Cranium game coming out! It will have a new board, new content, it’s an all new way to play Cranium! Rather than make a TV commercial showing a bunch of actors, well, acting like they’re having a good time playing it, Cranium is looking for some REAL footage of REAL people having REAL fun playing Cranium to feature in a new TV commercial!!

Here’s how it works: Participants can visit the Cranium Facebook page from now until May 31, 2010 to submit a short video of themselves playing Cranium (or something like it, like charades). Everyone who “auditions” will get a cool Cranium prize just for entering: Cranium Whoonu – the ultimate “get to know you” game. And 50 winners will get the all-new Cranium game, a video camera, cash prize and have the chance to star in the new TV commercial. (All participants featured in the video submission must be 18 or older. Open to US residents only.)

If you love playing Cranium, make a video and you could be the next Cranium commercial star!

disclosure: By posting this information, I am eligible to receive a free Cranium Whoonu game. I did not receive any compensation for my post and thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Book Giveaway – Hannah’s List by Debbie Macomber

This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to the three winners:

#7 Carolsue

#137 Cynthia R

#83 Vickie Couturier

Enjoy your books!

With more than 100 million copies of her books in print, Debbie Macomber is one of today’s most popular authors. In her new book Hannah’s List, pediatrician Michael Everett is given a letter by his late wife Hannah’s brother to be opened on the one-year anniversary of her death. In the letter, Hannah tells Michael that she wants him to remarry, and suggests three women she feels would make a good wife for him. Michael then sets out to get to know each woman and see if he can figure out how to love again.

Synopsis: Occasionally, we get an opportunity to change our lives—whether it’s another chance at love, changing the path we’ve chosen or going back and making amends for the past. Hannah’s List is the story of a widower who is given an unexpected letter from his wife on the first anniversary of her death. In a remarkable act of love, Hannah includes a list of three women for him to consider marrying. With a unique twist and intriguing element, readers will be in for a wonderful story of a love that transcends time, hope that is exceptionally unselfish, and the possibility of a future otherwise unfathomable. An unexpected letter. An impossible request. The gift of a second chance.

The book is a quick read, with large print. I cruised through the first half of the book in a few hours. Even though I could see how the book was going to end pretty quickly, I wanted to see how Michael would handle getting to know each of the three women and how the two he didn’t choose would end up. The ending was satisfying if not predictable, and in my ideal world, Macomber will write another book that continues the story of Michael Everett and the woman he chose.

WIN IT: One Grand Prize winner will receive a copy of Hannah’s List and a $25 VISA gift card. Two additional winners will each receive a copy of the book.  Enter by Wednesday June 2nd at 12:00 PM EST. Open to U.S. mailing addresses only.

How Your Baby Develops In Their Fifth and Sixth Month

The following is a guest post from Marjorie Dean on behalf of babyauthority.com.

You’ve probably noticed that your baby has gone through a number of stages in the first several months of his or her life and that they’ve been a bit fussy from time to time.

You may be starting to think that it’s going to go on forever. It might be a little bit easier for you if you know what to expect in advance. Then you will know how to cope with the different stages of your child’s development.

    At Nineteen Weeks

Your baby is beginning to understand the consequences of her actions. For example, when she rolls a toy music will play. She can also understand that when a ball rolls to her from you and she rolls it back that it is more or less one continuous action.

This phase lasts around five weeks. It can be challenging to deal with because your baby really wants to explore the world but her body is not yet capable of matching her desire.

At Twenty Three to Twenty Six Weeks

At this stage in his life your son will begin to understand that there are relationships between people and between things. Although he began to smile at familiar faces several weeks ago he will now be more cognizant of winning over your friends and other members of your family.

This can be an uncomfortable period for you because separation anxiety starts coming into play. You may even get less sleep than before because your baby will start to cry when you are not with her. And you can anticipate a “nursing strike” at this time in her life.

Bear with it, because this phase will last about one month.
