Kaitlyn’s preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch left us with two small pumpkins that I felt were too small to try to carve. We considered drawing faces on them with markers, but I envisioned a smeary mess. Then Pumpkin Masters came to our rescue by asking us to review their Pumpkin Sticker Kit!
The Pumpkin Masters Kid’s Pumpkin Sticker Kit comes with 62 full color stickers to create not-so-scary faces on any size pumpkin. There are a couple of complete looks like a cat, a vampire and a lady, and then more general stickers to mix and match. There are also some cool accent stickers like a big black spider, and a band-aid to cover up a “cut”, which was Kaitlyn’s favorite sticker. She kept calling various family members into the room to point out how she had put a band-aid on her pumpkin! This is what we came up with for our two small pumpkins:
Now, I have to be completely honest about how these stickers performed for us. I’m not suggesting everyone will have this experience, just reporting on ours. I made sure the pumpkins were clean and dry before we applied the stickers. At first, they stayed on fine, but after about 30 minutes, started peeling off at the edges. I kept smoothing them down but bits started popping up off the pumpkin, and then eventually all but a few of the stickers fell off. I don’t know if that’s because the pumpkins we used were small. We had much better results cutting pumpkin shapes out of printer paper and then using the stickers on those.
