GeoPalz are the hot new way to reward kids for activity! My sons are 14 and 12 and it is not easy to keep them moving. GeoPalz is a pedometer in a fun holder that kids wear any time they are active. The more they move, the more they get rewarded for walking to a friend’s house, or running around in the backyard, even just wiggling! Kids log their steps on their own GeoPalz page, earn virtual awards for their progress, get points, and then can trade the points in for cool prizes.
Meet the GeoPalz! There’s a GeoPalz to suit any kid’s interests, whether it’s Sports or Princesses or Rock n Roll Skateboarders or Animals, which you can buy at the GeoPalz Store for $19.99 each. So that I could see for myself how GeoPalz works, they sent me a Skelenimal whose name is Dax. I set up an account for my oldest son and registered Dax. Isn’t he cute?
If you already have a pedometer, you can buy a “Virtual” GeoPal which means they email you a code that lets you register your pedometer on their site, create an account, and earn GeoPalz points for activity.
Prizes include soft baseballs and footballs, flying discs, and $5 and $10 Target cards. I think having their own pedometer is a cool way to get kids more active, and being able to earn their own prizes is definitely an incentive! What do you think of GeoPalz? Which one is your favorite?

Hi Liz, looks like a useful pedometer. Hopefully the kids are not going to be over-active, as my latest blog post discusses. There is much to be said for wearing them out–fewer sleepless nights and late-night drama.
