Superior Promos For Branded Products

The opportunities to spread the word about your business or website with Promotional Items are endless thanks to Superior Promos! They have pretty much anything you would ever want to brand, from clothing to coffee mugs, tote bags to pens. They asked me to take a look at their website and I have to say, I’m impressed with the level of customer service I’m reading about on their testimonials page.

But first, a little about branding. If you own a business, either a brick-and-mortar store or an online business of any kind (including your blog!), there are so many ways you can get people to see your URL.  Think about summer, which is coming up soon. You’re at the playground with your kids. You could have the URL for your blog on your tote bag, t-shirt, water bottles, or on a stash of pens in your purse.  While you are sitting on the benches watching your kids play, the person sitting next to you is noticing your promotional product and might just become your newest site visitor!

The testimonials page on the site mentions the excellent customer service that customers received. What you do is either place your order on the website or by calling customer service. The art department contacts you in 24-48 hours to let you know a proof of your order is ready on the site. You log in to approve your design. If it isn’t exactly right, call customer service and they will work with you until your order is exactly what you want!

Approve your order and it moves to production. Within another 24-48 hours you’ll have an estimated ship date for your order. Once it ships you’ll be emailed full tracking information, cost of shipping, and whether your order is less or more than estimated.  It seems like Superior Promos really wants their customers to be happy from beginning to end!  Check out the site for yourself and see if there’s something you can use to advertise your business.

Wonka Easter Candy Review

Running out to the store today to buy last-minute easter candy ? It’s okay, I forgot to buy a HAM for dinner! We might end up eating fried chicken from the Meijer deli for dinner instead! Anyway, I have some suggestions for last minute treats from Wonka that will make excellent additions to plastic eggs or Easter baskets.

Wonka sent me a few samples of their Easter candy, including the super-cute SweeTARTS Candy Carrot. It’s a clear, carrot-shaped bag filled with orange flavored Wonka SweeTART Jelly Beans that is almost too cute to open and eat!

DoubleYummy Gummies- Individually wrapped large gummy bunnies and chicks in natural orange, lemon and strawberry flavors. The back side of the gummy is a “soft mallow” which tastes sort of like a marshmallow gummy. It mellows the tartness of the fruit flavor.

Wonka Exceptionals Chocolate Waterfall Eggs- Milk chocolate eggs with a white chocolate “waterfall” marbled throughout. My husband loves white chocolate and claimed most of these for his own!  I did get one to try and it was delicious.

Wonka Exceptionals Scrumptious Chocolate Eggs- Chocolate eggs with crispies and toffee in them. I was tempted to not share these with the kids and keep them for myself! Ryan and I are the big toffee fans, and we both agreed that these are incredibly good!

Egg Fillers- All of the Wonka favorites like sweeTARTS, Gobstoppers, Spree and Bottlecaps in little packets perfect for filling plastic eggs. As the one who’s job it is to fill the eggs every year, I like looking for individually wrapped candy. After all, those little plastic eggs sometimes break open when grabbed by excited kids, and who wants to pick candy out of the grass?

The shelves at Walgreens yesterday were still pretty full, so I would check there or CVS if you have to run in somewhere quick. Otherwise, Target and Walmart should still have candy left today.  Check out the Wonka website to learn more about all of their products, play games, even listen to music. And also, HAPPY EASTER!

disclosure: Wonka sent me samples of their Easter candy to faciliate this review. No other compensation was received.

3 Easter Leftovers Recipes From TLC’s George Duran And A Giveaway

This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to the winner, commenter #97, Mary!
George Duran, chef, entertainer, and host of TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off, has three new Easter leftovers recipes that he’s created to spice up this year’s post-holiday eats.  Chef Duran likes taking familiar recipes and doing something interesting to change them, a “twist” if you will, which probably explains why his cookbook (available at georgeduran.com) is called “Take This Dish and Twist It”.

The recipes he’s created - Bunnies in a Blanket, Spicy Tomato Deviled Eggs, and Thin Crust Honey Ham Glazed Pizza – are definitely a twist on the usual Easter leftovers recipes! I’m going to share those with you first before telling you about the awesome giveaway I’m hosting courtesy of ConAgra Foods.

Bunnies in a Blanket – perfect for using up that can of Crescent rolls you bought on sale!
by George Duran

Ingredients:

  • 1 tube of Crescent rolls
  • 4 Hebrew National franks, cut in half

Preparation:

  • Pre-heat oven at 375 degrees.
  • Remove each triangular crescent roll onto a cutting board.
  • Create bunny ears using a kitchen shear. Take the end of each frank half and cut a slit at 45 degrees toward the top front end, then cut the slit in half to create ears. Roll a crescent triangle slice around each frank, making sure that the dough is under the ears, helping to prop them upright.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes, until dough is golden brown. Serve with ketchup or mustard.
  • Makes 8 “bunnies”

Spicy Tomato Deviled Eggs – for those of you who like your leftovers spicy!
by George Duran
Ingredients:

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 5 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Hunt’s tomato paste
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons bottled hot pepper sauce
  • Kosher salt or table salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Paprika

Preparation:

  • For perfect hard-boiled eggs: Put the eggs in a large pot and cover them by at least 2 inches with cold water. Put the pot over high heat. When it comes to a boil, remove it from heat, cover, and let stand for 15 minutes. Drain the pot and run cold water over the eggs to stop the cooking. When cooled, crack and remove the shells.
  • Cut the eggs in half and put the yolks into a bowl. Mash them with the mayonnaise, tomato paste, and Tabasco until smooth. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Place the yolk mixture in a re-sealable plastic bag. Just before serving snip off one of the corners of the bag. Gently squeeze the bag and fill each egg white. Garnish with paprika.
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Thin Crust Honey Glazed Ham Pizza – Kids will love these!
by George Duran
Ingredients:

  • 3 9-inch flour tortillas
  • 1 15-oz. can Hunt’s tomato sauce
  • 1 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 C. ham, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place each flour tortilla on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet and toast for 4-5 minutes until lightly browned. If the crust puffs up, flatten it with the backside of a spoon once removed from the oven.
  • In a non-stick skillet sauté the diced ham with the honey until it’s well incorporated and bubbly, about 3-4 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Assemble pizzas by adding a couple tablespoons of the Hunt’s tomato sauce on each tortilla and spread it evenly with the backside of a spoon. Sprinkle about a 4-5 tablespoon of cheese and evenly lay out 1/3 of ham on top. Place them back on the baking sheet and bake for 3-4 minutes until cheese has slightly browned.
  • Makes 3 pizzas
