Holiday Gift Guide: Masking Maniac Activity Kits

Masking Maniac is the travel activity kit for kids that I’m calling a must-have item for anyone traveling with kids over the holidays (or any time of the year). With Masking Maniac, kids used colored tape and bottle caps to create whatever they can imagine, from funny faces to tic tac toe games. It’s one of the products that makes me wonder “why didn’t I think of that?!?”

We were sent the Masking Maniac Car Kit to review, which contains one headrest cover, ten colored plastic bottle caps, and four 25-foot rolls of colored masking tape, and a reusable pouch for storage. One side of the headrest cover is black vinyl, this side faces you. Or, stuff the cover with a pillow, towel, sweater, whatever’s on hand, and set it in your lap. We tried both, but ended up using it as a lap toy for Kaitlyn because when she’s sitting in her car seat, her hands don’t reach the back of the headrest in front of her.  There’s also an Airplane Kit with a cover that fits tray tables.

I liked that the tape was easy for Kaitlyn to tear into strips, she made a tic tac toe board by herself, and then I tried my hand at some shapes and letters. The possibilities are endless! Use the tape to make the alphabet, numbers, words, shapes, patterns – it’s fun, it’s educational, it’s such a great product! See Masking Maniac project ideas on their website as well.

The kits are $19.95 on the Masking Maniac website, and I highly recommend either one for your holiday travels or for a fun gift!
