Entertaining with Town House Crackers – Includes a Recipe!

Whether you have hungry kids running in and out of your house all summer, or are having friends over for a backyard cookout, keep Keebler Town House Crackers on hand for everything from quick snacks to kid-friendly meals! I’ve always loved original Town House Crackers – sometimes topped with seafood salad, sometimes with a smear of peanut butter – so I was excited to get a Town House Crackers Entertaining Kit that included a red serving tray, recipe cards, a cool recipe card holder, and boxes of original Town House, Town House Toppers, and Italian Herb Flatbread Crisps.

Those Italian Herb Flatbread Crisps are so good, my kids devoured the box in two sittings. I think I got ONE to taste for myself!  They are absolutely delicious right out of the box.

The Toppers are great for serving with spreads because they have a rim around the edge that holds the fillings in. Chicken salad, tuna salad, seafood salad – any kind of cold spread would be delicious with Town House Toppers.

In fact, you need to head on over to Snackpicks, which is the recipe site for Keebler. There are tons of recipes for appetizers, snacks, treats, and more. Some of the recipes are meant to go on top of Town House Crackers, and some recipes use them as an ingredient, like this one!

Do not cover pan or turn chicken while baking.

Lance Sandwich Crackers Perfect Grab n Go Snack For Summer!

Lance Sandwich Crackers has teamed up with The Mom on the Run, Colleen Burns to offer simple and fun Springtime Fun tips as part of the Mom on the Run Loves Lance campaign (www.MomsLoveLance.com).

As part of this campaign, Lance is encouraging parents to pack a “spontaneity bag” to take advantage of small windows of free time; Lance Sandwich Crackers make a perfect snack to throw in the bag because they contain real peanut butter and real cheese filling to keep your kids going, but don’t need refrigeration.

I am in love with Lance ToastChee sandwich crackers. I would have never on my own bought cheese crackers and smeared peanut butter on them, but there is something about a package of ToastChee that I just can’t resist. It’s the perfect salty/sweet combination! In fact I’m currently looking for the 100 calorie packs of them so I can take some with me on my flight to San Diego for BlogHer.

I learned a lot about Lance products from the Lance Snacks Facebook page, like that all three of the Lance Sandwich Crackers on Whole Grain contain more than 8 grams of whole grain and 3 grams of fiber per serving. And that they make their own peanut butter, about 18 million pounds annually!

Earlier this summer, a PR rep sent me a wonderful Scout Daytripper bag in summery Brittany’s Stripe and an assortment of Lance products. I found it here if you want to see the details. It’s a great water-resistant bag that holds rolled up towels, suits, sunscreen, bottles of water, and of course Lance Sandwich Crackers.  It’s the perfect “spontaneity bag”  to keep packed and ready to grab when the urge to hit the water strikes!

So, tell me in a comment – what’s your favorite variety of Lance Sandwich Cracker?

Betty Crocker Fun Da-Middles Baking Mix Review and Giveaway

Thanks to MyBlogSpark, the kids and I got a special treat – we got a sneak peek at new Betty Crocker Fun da-middles, the first boxed-cupcake mix of its kind, before it hits shelves later this year! Combining cake mix and filling pouch in one box, Fun da-middles have a special creamy filling that bakes inside the cupcake.

Available in three delicious flavors, Vanilla Cake with Creamy Chocolate Filling, Chocolate Cake with Creamy Vanilla Filling, and Vanilla Cake with Creamy Vanilla Filling, Fun da-middles are a fun and portable treat that kids (and their parents) are sure to love. With Fun da-middles, you’ll never have to frost cupcakes again if you don’t want to, because with Fun da-middles, it’s what’s inside that counts!

We got the Vanilla Cake with Creamy Vanilla Filling for review. A box makes 12 cupcakes, you fill the muffin cups about 1/3 of  the way, then squeeze the filling from a pouch evenly over each one, then top with the rest of the batter.

The filling tastes like a cross between Twinkie filling and marshmallow creme, and the cake is moist. These didn’t last long!
