Need a last-minute gift idea? I just reviewed the Guinness World Records 2010 “Book of the Decade”, and let me tell you, it is FANTASTIC. It’s a whopping 287 pages that are each totally packed with not only amazing world records, but TONS of eye-popping photos. It starts with “Firsts”, like the first million-selling CD (Dire Straits’ “Brothers in Arms” in 1985), and ends with “Lasts”, like the the last use of guillotine in France (surprisingly, in 1977). In between, the pages are packed with records set in categories like human achievements, sports, animals, engineering, and media.
The book also includes a code that unlocks more content on www.guinnessworldrecords.com/2010/. There’s the Top 100 records, interviews, videos, and wallpaper downloads. My favorite record in the 2010 book is also on the interviews special content page, the record is held by Steve Mallie of Mallie’s Restaurant, who holds the record for the world’s largest commercially available hamburger. Mallie’s is located in Southgate, Michigan. You can find the record in the “Big Food” section, the burger weighs 164.8 lbs and costs $399.00!
So, if you need a last-minute gift for someone, or you’ll be taking a long drive to visit relatives for Christmas and need something to keep older kids occupied, I highly recommend you pick up the Guinness World Records 2010 book. It’s available at Barnes & Noble, check other bookstores as well. It’s hours and hours of entertainment at a great price!
