Download KIDZ BOP Halloween Party For Tonight!

KIDZ BOP is music for kids, sung by kids, and just in time for tonight’s festivities, they’ve released  KIDZ BOP Halloween Party!  fhas 15 Halloween Hit songs plus a track of spooky sounds that runs in a continuous loop so you can concentrate on answering the door for trick-or-treaters!

Some of the songs are ones you’d expect on a Halloween CD, like “This Is Halloween” from A Nightmare Before Christmas, “Monster Mash”, and “Thriller”. Others are songs that have Halloween-related titles, like “Werewolves of London”, “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead”, and “I Want Candy”.

Kaitlyn was hesitant to listen to it at first, worried that it would be “too spooky”, but soon she was listening and dancing along to the songs. She especially loved “The Addams Family” theme song because her Kindergarten teacher uses the tune to teach the kids the days of the week :)

The “Spooky Sounds” track at the end isn’t too spooky, but I’d watch little ones’ reactions to the howls and shrieks. I plan to have it on in the background while I answer the door tonight.

At $9.99, KIDZ BOP Halloween Party is a reasonably priced download. If you want to purchase a hard copy as well – who says those songs are only fun on Halloween? – you can also order KIDZ BOP Halloween Party on CD for $8.85. Happy Halloween!

disclosure: KIDZ BOP sent me a complimentary copy of Halloween Party to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

The Jimmies: Practically Ridiculous CD Review & Giveaway

I’m excited to announce that award-winning kids’ band The Jimmies releases their second full-length album tomorrow (Sept.20th) called Practically Ridiculous, and it is AWESOME. I received a copy to review, and what I love about Practically Ridiculous is that every song sounds different. Ashley channels Gwen Stefani in “Minivan Hotrod”, and you can definitely hear the influence of her father and her uncle, Howard and Ron Albert, who were the legendary producers/engineers for artists as varied as Crosby Stills & Nash and The Allman Brothers, on the country-rock song “Bonfire” and the rockabilly “Gonna Get a Hamster”. Everyone within earshot will start banging their heads to the guitar-rockin’ final song “Kids Wanna Rock”.

I’m also a fan of The Jimmies’ website packed full of info, photos, concert dates, bios, and a music player with songs  from their first album (WARNING, the music player auto-starts). There are links there to buy their first CD “Make Your Own Someday” on PayPal for $13 plus $2 shipping; I presume there will be a link to buy Practically Ridiculous after tomorrow as well. You can also find their CDs at Barnes & Noble, on Amazon.com, or download a digital copy. All of this is available at www.gimmejimmies.com/music.html

But mostly, I’m just a fan of The Jimmies, period. It’s obvious they just have so much FUN making their music and their videos.  I’m happy to help spread the word about them by doing this review and giveaway!

Kidz Bop Christmas Party

I did not used to be a fan of Kidz Bop, but in the last year they have released several CDs that I enjoy and listen to regularly with my daughter in the car. Our newest favorite is Kidz Bop Christmas Party, with 15 classic Christmas songs that we love to listen to over and over!  The songs on the CD are:

  • All I Want For Christmas Is You
  • It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
  • Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree
  • Silver Bells
  • White Christmas
  • Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
  • Last Christmas
  • Winter Wonderland
  • Blue Christmas
  • Deck The Halls
  • The 12 Days of Christmas
  • Jingle Bell Rock
  • You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch
  • Caroling Caroling
  • Christmas Time Is Here

Kidz Bop CDs are “for kids and sung by kids”, and I’m happy to report that the quality of the singing has vastly improved over the years. The kids sound natural and yet professional. Kidz Bop Christmas Party is going on my Christmas CDs shelf and will definitely be part of our Christmas music rotation next year!  Suggested retail price: $11.98.

I received Kidz Bop Christmas party free for review.
