I’m excited to announce that award-winning kids’ band The Jimmies releases their second full-length album tomorrow (Sept.20th) called Practically Ridiculous, and it is AWESOME. I received a copy to review, and what I love about Practically Ridiculous is that every song sounds different. Ashley channels Gwen Stefani in “Minivan Hotrod”, and you can definitely hear the influence of her father and her uncle, Howard and Ron Albert, who were the legendary producers/engineers for artists as varied as Crosby Stills & Nash and The Allman Brothers, on the country-rock song “Bonfire” and the rockabilly “Gonna Get a Hamster”. Everyone within earshot will start banging their heads to the guitar-rockin’ final song “Kids Wanna Rock”.

I’m also a fan of The Jimmies’ website packed full of info, photos, concert dates, bios, and a music player with songs  from their first album (WARNING, the music player auto-starts). There are links there to buy their first CD “Make Your Own Someday” on PayPal for $13 plus $2 shipping; I presume there will be a link to buy Practically Ridiculous after tomorrow as well. But mostly, I’m just a fan of The Jimmies, period. It’s obvious they just have so much FUN making their music and their videos.  I’m happy to help spread the word about them by doing this review and giveaway!
