Review Round-Up Friday, Oct. 19

Jamie at So a Blonde Walks Into a Review has a great post up. I didn’t know that Hanes has a website showing how to make Halloween costumes using their t-shirts! The gypsy costume is adorable, I’m thinking about making it just for Kaitlyn to use for dress-up. Go to the Hanes Homepage, scroll all the way down, and click the “make crafts” link at the bottom.

Lisa at Lisa Reviews has a review of the Disney DVD “Pooh’s Heffalump Movie”. Kaitlyn has just discovered Winnie the Pooh; I bet she would like this one, too. I’ll look for it at Blockbuster.

Eliza wrote a post on MomGadget reviewing the Reading Kaboodle, which is like a roll-up nap mat for kids, except with a thin stuffed pillow attached, and a pocket for a book. I’ll have to keep this in mind for when Kaitlyn goes to preschool and needs a nap mat. Cute!

Carmen at Scrutiny by the Masses has a review of a website I hadn’t heard of, called MonkeyBar TV. It’s an interactive website from Hasbro, and from her description, I need to have the boys check it out when they get home. Thanks, Carmen!

Stacey at Parent Traps has a review of a new food product from Disney called “Foodles”. My daughter will eat anything, but she loves to dip-so I think she would like a Mickey Mouse shaped tray with veggie sticks and dip. I’ll look for these at the grocery store!

MomReviews reviews Lisa Reviews

Best. Review Blog. Post Title. EVER!!

It’s been a while since I did a blog review here, so when my friend Lisa asked for a review of her site Lisa Reviews, I was happy to oblige! Lisa and I “met” through a message board, and now you can find us on Gmail chat most afternoons, keeping each other company. She has two adorable kids and lives near Chicago, and one of these weekends I’m going to have to drive down there so she can take me shopping at Ikea :)

What I like about Lisa’s blog is the different shades of blue. I find blue very soothing to look at, and not many people use darker colors for their backgrounds, so it makes her site unique. However, I do have one suggestion for her-this might seem weird, but I had a hard time figuring out how to comment on her posts! I’m used to looking either right above or right below a post for the comment link, but she has her comment field over on the far left in what could be a sidebar. Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t think to look on the side of the post for the comment field. Just my opinion :)

Lisa has a good variety of categories that she writes about. I’ve been having fun browsing her archives, and I’ve already bookmarked a few sites to visit that she has reviewed, like Fechr. Any site that could guarantee me 100 visitors in one day, sign me up! LOL I enjoy reading her reviews, too. I have her link in my sidebar, so I hope you will check out Lisa Reviews!

Bow clips giveaway on Laura Williams’ Musings

Laura at Laura Williams’ Musings has a great giveaway, for two snap clip bows in red, perfect for the holidays! I wasn’t familiar with Simply Sweet Bowtique before this giveaway, they sell adorable bows, bow holders, and my favorite-a custom made twirly skirt for Christmas. $15.00 for a skirt made exactly to fit is a great price!

I’ve got Laura’s badge up in my sidebar now, and I highly recommend stopping by her site often, she does a lot of great giveaways :)
