Clicktoy Makes Storytime Interactive Fun for Toddlers-with Giveaway!

Written by Elizabeth on August 11, 2008 – 11:14 am -

Created by a Dad who wanted to create a special computer game for his own children, Clicktoy combines beautiful graphics with an interactive environment of cuddly-looking animals, sounds, and nature in Clicktoy-The Meadow. It was easy to install the game on my desktop and Kaitlyn asks to play it almost every day, she calls it “The Bunny Game”. It took a few minutes to figure out which key on the keyboard did what, but Kaitlyn quickly figured out which key to click to make a bunny hop over to another bunny and nuzzle it’s nose, making animated hearts twinkle above their heads. She NEVER gets tired of it!

What I like best about this game is the pace. For someone used to quick flash games, it actually took me some time to get used to just relaxing and helping Kaitlyn move the animals. But I soon realized that it’s rather soothing to just have gentle actions and music rather than bright blinky things happening on the screen all the time. It’s a great game to play after dinner while I am winding her down for bedtime.

A copy of Clicktoy-The Meadow costs $20, the same as most games on sites like Big Fish. BUT, I’ve got a free download to give away to one lucky reader! Please note- The Meadow is fun and easy Windows PC interactive software for children ages 1 and up that transforms a computer into a safe toy for toddlers, Only for Windows XP/Vista users. To enter, visit the Games section of Clicktoy, read the “Key Features” section, then come back here and tell me which of the Features interests you the most. You must leave a real first name or blog alias, comments left with keywords WILL be deleted. And please leave a valid email address!

EZSchoolSupplies-Order Now, Save Money!

Written by Elizabeth on July 15, 2008 – 5:02 pm -

Okay, I know it’s still summer, but for a lot of states, school starts in about six weeks! Yikes! Here in Michigan, a law was passed that school can’t start until after Labor Day, but it’s still not too early to start thinking about all the stuff that has to be purchased before the start of the school year. You know, paper, pencils, binders, glue sticks, folders, rulers, pens, scissors, erasers…Ack! But thanks to Parent Reviewers and EZ School Supplies, I’m going to show how you can make school supply shopping easy, and save money too!

1. Start by going to EZSchoolSupplies.com. In the top left corner, type in your ZIP code. If your school has already registered for the site, you’ll see it there. If not, that’s okay! Someone representing your school can register, and then create a School Supply List called an EZPack. Parents can go to the site, type in the school’s name, buy the EZPack, and have everything their child needs for school supplies! Easy, Stress Free!

2. Save Money- For every pre-approved, pre-packaged EZPack that is purchased, the school’s parent support group-like the PTA, PTO, School Booster Club, whatever your school calls it-gets back TEN PERCENT of the purchase price, either in cash, or in additional supplies So you buy the school supplies you need, and your school gets cash it can use for student programs, or extra supplies!

3. Homeschooling? No parent group at your school? You can save money too! I have an exclusive discount code you can use to save ten percent on your purchase from EZSchool Supplies, and the best part? The discount code NEVER EXPIRES! So when you run out of glue sticks and erasers in February, you can come back here, get the code, and save another ten percent! w00t!

****Use this code at checkout to save ten percent- EZMB039 -****

4. Teachers, don’t wait until the last minute! Use the EZ Teacher Form to choose from a list of the most popular school supplies and make a supply list. It’s easy to make changes to it as you need. Print out great looking flyers right from the site that you can send to your students or post around the school letting parents know that they can use EZSchoolSupplies to make their purchases. You can ask for product information and price quotes ahead of time so you know exactly what your costs will be.

5. PTA Parents, get your school excited about school supplies! Use one of the great PDF files on the site (located on the right side of the page under the link EZ Forms and Downloads) to make fun posters for classrooms and school rooms. Need personalized school mascot items? EZSchoolSupplies can customize everything including backpacks, T-shirts, student planners water bottles and even pencils!

Writing this review has made me excited about back to school supply shopping! Remember, use discount code EZMB039, whether you are buying for yourself or to help raise money for your school, and save Ten Percent on school supplies!

Review of Shoppers Lotto

Written by Elizabeth on July 14, 2008 – 10:26 pm -

The following is a paid review:

Well, I guess it doesn’t surprise me that someone finally combined shopping online with playing the lottery, with a site called shoppers lotto shop to win. Open only to people age 21 and over, there is no charge to become a member of the site and it requires only simply filling out a short form. You receive one free credit to the site for signing up, and credits can be used immediately or “saved up” for entries.

I looked over the site very carefully and read the rules and regulations as well. That’s where I found that the numbers used in the Shoppers Lotto are taken from the Illinois State Lottery. There are two drawings a month, and each drawing has a “Large” drawing and a “Small” drawing. A Large Prize winner may select one of the following prizes: $1200 gift card, Dell laptop XPS m330 (ARV: $1200) or a 32” widescreen LCD television (ARV: $1200). A Small Prize winner may select exactly one (1) of the following prizes: a $500 gift card, Microsoft Xbox 360 (ARV: $499) or an Apple IPod 160 (ARV: $349).

You can earn more credits to use as entries by shopping with the site’s online vendors, you get 1 credit for every $25 you spend. Vendors include AT&T, Hanes.com, Amazon.com, and KBToys.com. So if you already do a lot of online shopping, and you like playing Lotto-style games, you might like Shoppers Lotto. This was a sponsored post.

It’s not too early to start thinking about Halloween Costumes!

Written by Elizabeth on July 7, 2008 – 10:57 am -

I know what you are thinking, geez Elizabeth, let us enjoy summer and not think about FALL and Halloween yet, but if you want to have really amazing halloween costumes for yourself or your children this year, why not start looking now before the selections get picked over? Kaitlyn is very into princesses right now, and loves to put on Tiaras, so I’m thinking she will love this Butterfly Princess costume that comes with a dress, wings, and a tiara:

With three kids to buy costumes for, and a burning desire NOT to have to settle for whatever is left over at Target, I like the idea of buying costumes now, so I can spread the three purchases out over a few paychecks and each of my kids can get just what they want. Of course, it’s hard to know whether Halloween in Michigan is going to be sunny and mild or windy, rainy and cold, so we tend to buy costumes that will still look good with a heavy turtleneck underneath and possibly a coat on top!

I never think I look good in halloween costumes and don’t usually dress up, but I do like this 50’s Poodle Skirt, even though the price only includes the skirt, not the jacket, top, or scarf, which are all separate. Still, it would be a fun costume to wear!

Wouldn’t that be cute with my hair in a high ponytail and some saddle shoes or penny loafers? Writing this post is making me actually excited for Halloween! BuyCostumes.com has tons of great themed and classic costumes for adults and kids, as well as accessories, hats, wigs, masks, decorations, and props. The prices are really reasonable and very competitive. Check out the site for your halloween costumes this year!

Advertisers, spread the word with IZEA

Written by Elizabeth on July 6, 2008 – 12:25 am -

Today’s savvy advertiser knows that blog marketing is a great way to reach a broad target audience with information about their products or services. IZEA offers advertisers a wide variety of Social Media Marketing services through both PayPerPost and Social Spark, including blog posts, blog sponsorships, product sampling, and free blog “sparks”.

It’s super easy for advertisers to create a campaign, describing the requirements for the post, specifying links and anchor text, minimum number of words required, minimum Page Rank, the categories of blogs that can take the opportunity, even required images. Once the opportunity is shown in the PayPerPost Marketplace, qualified bloggers reserve the opportunities, write their posts, and submit them for approval.

This year, through Social Spark, IZEA began offering a unique way for advertisers to offer blog sponsorships through a banner ad that appears at the bottom of qualified blogs, or through a splash page. Pricing is daily and is dynamic, meaning the advertiser can choose how much of their advertising dollars are spent each day. In addition, the post opportunities on Social Spark can be set up to be spread out rather than taken all at once, giving the advertiser more exposure over a period of time.

Having participated in the PayPerPost Marketplace as well as on Social Spark, I have seen my share of great advertising campaigns that delivered excellent value to the advertisers. I encourage any company, large or small, who is looking for a new way to use Social Media to market themselves, to look into becoming an Advertiser with PayPerPost.
