The Main 4 Things You Will Need For Your New Baby

Sarah Lifestyle

Bringing a child into the world is a momentous occasion for any expectant parent. Whether you have been lucky enough to get pregnant on your own or if you’ve needed the help of a surrogate (make sure you draw up a surrogacy contract first), this is the start of a truly exciting time in your life.

After you or your surrogate has given birth in the hospital, you will feel a wave of all kinds of emotions. There can be an enormous amount of pressure and information coming at you about all the things that you will need and things that you will have to do after your baby arrives.

The fact of the matter is, however, people have been having babies for a long time before ergonomic all organic cotton baby carriers and the latest teething toys shaped like a giraffe that you simply have to buy. Babies are actually quite more simple than we give them credit for. Instead of letting your mind boggle with all of the things that you need, slow down and focus on your recovery, instead, and keep it simple.

When it boils down to it, these are really the only things you will need for your new baby.

A Ride Home From The Hospital

If you give birth in a hospital, you will need to get home shortly after. Since your baby will be going home with you, you will need to make sure that you have a car seat which is properly installed and is appropriate for a newborn.

If you don’t have a car yet, you may want to consider buying one after you have your baby. Life is a lot easier with children when you have your own form of transportation rather than relying on public transport or taxis. Not to mention you have to haul around your stroller or car seat. When it is your own vehicle you can keep everything you need in your car and have it wherever you go.

Warm Clothing

Babies are used to a certain temperature inside of the womb. Therefore, when they come out it is important to keep them warm so that they adjust to the outside temperatures.

After the initial skin to skin contact which is recommended during the first period of the baby’s birth, you should wrap them in warm clothing and a swaddle. Throughout their next few days of life make sure that you are keeping up with this routine of changing their diapers and then bundling them up again.

Milk

Your baby will need to eat! So whether you are breastfeeding or giving formula in a bottle, make sure that they are getting their nutrients as often as possible.

Love And Attention

One of the most important things that you can give a new baby is love and attention. Your baby will want to be held and comforted for a long time after leaving the warm and cozy cocoon of your womb. Your two comforting arms are all your baby will need sometimes.
