Firefly products encourage kids to brush longer!

Getting kids to brush their teeth is hard enough, then we parents have to get them to brush their teeth long enough to actually get them clean. Thanks to Firefly, we got to sample toothbrushes that are fun for kids to use and encourage them to brush longer!  Firefly’s line of toothbrushes are sized just for little hands, have fun characters, and best of all, feature a blinking light at the base of the handle that blinks for one minute, which is the minimum amount of time kids should spend brushing their teeth.

Included in our sample package were Firefly toothbrushes that looked like Spiderman climbing up a wall, plain solid colored toothbrushes in single and two-packs, and some with clear handles filled with liquid, glitter, and a tiny character, like a little snowglobe. Kaitlyn claimed one for herself that’s pink with a little princess inside the handle, and for Nathan’s best friend who sleeps over here a lot, we set aside the toothbrush with the clear handle and a little chef inside holding a pizza.

The Firefly product line also includes bubblegum flavored toothpaste, Kids’ Flossers, and mouthwash with a cap that blinks so kids swish it around long enough it’s called MouthSwoosh, so cute). It has never been so easy to get my kids to brush their teeth!  There’s only one downside – the batteries in the toothbrushes aren’t replaceable, so when it stops blinking, you have to throw it out. According to the website, there’s an Eco-Friendly toothbrush coming soon that I would assume will be recyclable, so watch for that.

Thanks again, Firefly for introducing our family to your products and getting my kids to brush their teeth longer!

Glee Season One Volume One: Road to Sectionals

I am a Gleek! I’ve watched every episode of Glee, and I love, love, love it!  My husband bought me one of the Glee soundtracks for Christmas without me even having to tell him I wanted it, which almost never happens! lol   So naturally I was excited to see that the first half of Season One was coming out on DVD. It’s called Glee Season One Volume One: Road to SectionalsGlee Vol. One Road to Sectionals, and it’s available on Amazon.com for $27.99 which includes free Super Saver Shipping.

I wasn’t able to get the full DVD for review (sad face), but 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment did send me a screener of Disc Four, which includes the episodes “Mattress” and “Sectionals”, and these special features-

Special Features:

* Full Length Audition Pieces
Rachel – “On My Own”
Mercedes – “Respect”
* Welcome to McKinley!
* Fox Movie Channel Casting Session
* Deconstructing Glee With Ryan Murphy
* Dance Boot Camp

My favorite is the casting session feature, where we learn, among other things, that Lea Michele (Rachel) came to her audition having just gotten into a car accident on the way to the studio, and that Cory Monteith (Finn) sent in an audition tape of himself drumming on water glasses. And in the Dance Boot Camp feature, the dancing coach reveals that Kevin McHale (Artie) is probably the best dancer of the group, but we won’t see it since his character is in a wheelchair.

If you’re a Gleek like me, pick up Glee Season One Volume One: Road to Sectionals, while you are waiting for the second half of Season One to resume on April 13th!

SpiceStack Giveaway

This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to the winner, Ryan from the aptly named The Insanity of Organized Chaos!

Photobucket Keep your spices organized and easy to find with the clever SpiceStack! This three-drawer organizer is made of durable plastic with nonstick rubber grips on the bottom, and it easily fits inside a kitchen cabinet or pantry. It holds 18 full-size spice bottles, and is stackable for cooks with lots of spices! Each SpiceStack comes with a sheet of 48 pre-printed and 48 blank labels so owners can print or write labels for the outside of the drawers in order to identify the spices inside.

This really is an innovative product. I have a really small pantry and when we first moved in, I was trying to stand up the spice bottles inside a plastic bin, but they always got knocked over. I tried stackable shelves, but then I couldn’t see what was behind the ones in the front! I SO could have used a SpiceStack! Each drawer pulls out, stops, then tilts down. It holds standard size as well as half size spice bottles. You can also order empty bottles separately to fill with bulk spices or other items. SpiceStacks are proudly made in the USA and cost $24.95 plus shipping.

WIN IT: I have a SpiceStack to give away, courtesy of Lauren from SpiceStack. For one entry, leave a comment on this post with your real first name or blog name, valid email address, and tell me where in the kitchen you’ll use your SpiceStack. Enter by January 20th at 6:00 PM ET.
