Baby Einstein makes a great gift!

Over ten years ago, Julie Clark founded Baby Einstein as a way to share the world of music and art with her baby.  While the product line has grown, the philosophy of the company has stayed the same-provide parents with products that engage their baby and stimulate their natural curiosity. In celebration of Baby Einstein’s 10th Anniversary,  Mom Central and Baby Einstein sent me three terrific products to review:

10th Anniversary Special Edition Baby Mozart DVD
Baby Einstein Touch & Feel Baby Animals
Baby Einstein Lullaby Classics CD.

baby-mozartThe Baby Mozart DVD takes familiar Mozart tunes like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” combined with scenes of familiar objects in motion, like a mobile of the planets or a teddy bear, plus adorable puppets. There are three activity modes-play, dance together, or quiet time, plus “discovery cards” with images and sound effects. New for this version are Tips for Moms including ways to enhance your “Together Time” with your baby, and a behind-the-scenes talk with Julie Clark.

touch-and-feel-farm-animalsTouch and Feel Farm Animals is a ten page board book that introduces baby to photos of real animals combined with bright and colorful illustrations of farm scenes.  You’ll get a chance to teach your baby what each animal says, then there’s a touchable spot on the animal. The back of the book has tips for continuing the lesson learned in the book, using items around the house to introduce your baby to different textures, or describing other animals you see.

lullaby-classicsBaby Einstein Lullaby Classics is 17 classical melodies that you will more than likely recognize, including Pachelbel’s Canon, Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, and Vivaldi’s “Winter” from The Four Seasons.  Classical music is wonderful to play not just for lullabies, but anytime you want soothing music playing.  Studies have shown that listening to music can improve a child’s ability to learn in general, so having it on even quietly in the background while doing other things can have lasting benefits.

Thanks again to Mom Central and Baby Einstein for sending us these great products to review!

Baby Einstein’s Baby’s First Sounds

Even though she’s two and a half and these DVDs are meant more for younger babies, my daughter loves the DVD Baby’s First Sounds from Baby Einstein! This DVD focuses on five basic sounds: ”ah,” ”buh,” ”duh,” ”ee,” and ”mm.” Then, these sounds are connected to simple words in languages such as English, Spanish, Chinese and French and reinforced with fun puppet shows, familiar nursery rhymes and real-life images of loving parents spending together-time with their babies — all accompanied by beautiful classical music in the Baby Einstein tradition.

If your child watches TV shows where the characters speak Spanish or Chinese, the foreign language sections on this DVD will seem familiar. The music scenes are adorable, in fact my daughter asks for this “Puppets” scene over and over:

It cracks her up! I love the quality of Baby Einstein DVDs, the classical music and the terrific production quality. I like knowing that my daughter is learning something and isn’t watching commercials :) So, there you go, some info about Baby Einstein’s Baby’s First Sounds. Thanks for reading!
