My favorite recipe to use with my Thermal Cooler is a big batch of healthy fruit smoothies, like this Hamilton Beach Fruit Smoothie with Heart:

* 1 cup nonfat milk
* ½ cup low fat flavored or plain yogurt
* ¼ cup honey
* 2 cups frozen fruit – mixture of choice,
* 1 banana
* ¼ cup ice

  1. Place ingredients in blender jar in order listed.*
  2. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.

*Always place liquid ingredients in blender first.

Serves: 2-4

Knudsen Sensible Sippers

My daughter loves juice boxes and would drink them all day long if I let her. What I would really like her to drink is more plain water, but she likes that sweet taste of the juice. Knudsen Sensible Sippers are a terrific alternative to juice boxes, and they are certified 100% Organic, too!

knudsens sensible sippersFamily Review Network sent me two packages of Sensible Sippers to review, one Apple and one Mixed Berry. Ryan, Nathan and I shared one, each taking a sip to taste. We agreed that we would drink it if we were really thirsty, but otherwise we would rather have water. It tastes like water with a splash of juice in it. They are actually 50% water and 50% juice. However, Kaitlyn LOVED THEM and drank two a day until both packages were gone.

Sensible Sippers have 40% fewer calories than other juice boxes and no added sugar. At only 30 calories in each 4.23 oz juice box, I wasn’t worried that Kaitlyn would be too full from the juice to eat lunch or dinner. The seven grams of sugar are not too bad, better than the 40 grams of sugar in regular juice! It’s a great way to compromise between a glass of water and a regular juice box. I’ll definitely buy them for her!
