Quality Fashions at Reasonable Prices from Blair

In 1910, law student John Blair was asked by a fellow student if he would be interested in being the sales manager for a raincoat factory. Blair started with a suitcase full of black raincoats and paid visits to clothing store owners, but sold only one coat, to an undertaker. Blair knew that he had a target market – undertakers who needed black raincoats – and he knew just how to reach them. He borrowed $500, printed and mailed flyers advertising the raincoats, and in no time, sold 1200 of them.

100 years later (Happy 100th Anniversary!), the Blair company has expanded to sell women’s and men’s fashions as well as items for the home, pet needs, and jewelry. That printed flyer has turned into three catalogs – Blair Men’s, Blair Women’s, and Blair Home. You can request a print catalog or browse the interactive online catalogs, which include a catalog just for pet  items.

So, what can you buy from Blair? Well, it snowed four inches in Wisconsin last night, so how about a new flannel nightgown?  There’s a huge selection of Capris & Shorts for Women, some of which come with a coordinating top. The prices are crazy low, too.  A henley tank top with drawstring shorts for $9.99?!  Prices do go up according to size – S M L is $9.99, XL, 2XL, 3XL are $12.99.

AND, for us petite size gals (I’m only five feet tall), Blair has many items in petite lengths. I love these Sport Pants which come in PL, PXL, and P2XL sizes. Hooray for a clothing company  that recognizes us short folks! lol  And I was impressed to read on the “About Blair” page that they design the fashions they sell, they aren’t just drop-shipping someone else’s products.

Now, in the interest of always giving my honest opinion, I have to say, I can’t vouch for the quality of every item Blair sells. Fortunately for buyers, Blair has a satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not pleased with your purchase, they will gladly exchange it or give you a refund. A prepaid shipping label is included with your packing slip, so you don’t pay to return your item.

If it’s a cold, rainy day where you live like it is here, take a minute and browse through the Blair website. You might just like what you see!

Amon Maternity Bodyshaper

Okay, so the first thing I have to say in this review is that I am NOT PREGNANT.  When I first got the email from Amon Maternity I was like “um, why would I want to review a maternity product?”   Then I took a minute to look at the description and realized that the Amon Bodyshaper is meant to be worn AFTER pregnancy, to help hold in the tummy. My daughter might be four years old, but I haven’t exactly gotten my original body back, so I’m quite familiar with “control top” undergarments. So, I agreed to review a Bodyshaper.

People, the Amon Bodyshaper is, hands down, the MOST COMFORTABLE panty of any type I have ever worn. Ever.  It’s made with a microfiber fabric that is smooth around the bottom and sort of ribbed the rest of the way around, so it stretches when I move. I wore it all day around the house, getting down on the floor to play with Kaitlyn and back up, and there was no “riding up” or rolling down at the waistband.

I own a couple of pairs of “shaper” panties, with panels in the front, and the waistband on every one of them eventually rolls down as the day goes on. The Amon Bodyshaper stayed up and it was SO comfortable.  There was no digging into my waist at all. The tummy panel held my tummy in more gently than I would have liked, but I did feel a noticeable support around my tummy. I think if I wasn’t already overweight, if I just had the post-baby “goosh” around my tummy, that it would be a more obvious amount of support.

Bodyshapers come in three colors – black, white, and beige – and at $25.00 each, are priced similarly to other good-quality shaper panties.  The sizing runs small, so I recommend going up a size.  If you buy two or more, you get free shipping in the U.S.!   Thank you Amon Maternity for sending me a Bodyshaper, you’ve turned me into a fan!
