Tassimo Brewbot Review and Giveaway

As much as I love coffee, sometimes I just want one cup, and even though my regular coffeemaker can make a small amount, I still have to grind the coffee beans, measure out the water, empty and clean the metal filter, measure out the ground coffee, rinse out the coffee pot, and only THEN can I even start to make the coffee. And when I need caffeine, that’s a long time to wait!

Well, thanks to the wonderful folks representing Bosch, I can now have one perfect cup of coffee any time I want it, and it only takes ONE MINUTE to get it! They sent me the Tassimo T20 Brewbot to review, and let me tell you, this thing is GENIUS, people. This mighty little brewer makes over 40 varieties of hot and cold beverages including cappuccinos, chai lattes, tea, coffee and more in under 60 seconds! It’s the perfect brewer to keep your friends and family happy this holiday season as everyone can get the beverage he/she desires. Best of all, there is zero clean-up and the T20 features a sleek, compact design that is super counter-space friendly.

Having the Tassimo Brewbot is almost like having a coffee shop barista waiting in your kitchen to make the exact drink you want. It uses T-Discs, which are little sealed cups of ground coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and the Cappuccino Discs even come with cups of shelf-stable milk. It’s everything you need to make your perfect drink every time!

I decided to start by making a Cappuccino. Each T-Disc has a bar code on the bottom that the machine reads to tell it exactly how much water is needed. The water goes into a clear plastic tank on the back – fill it up once in the morning, and you’re set for a day’s worth of coffee drinks! – and the discs fit into a slot on the top. To make the cappuccino, I started with a milk disc, which the machine perfectly steamed and foamed into the cup.

The machine is a little loud, it makes sort of a “thump thump” noise, but it’s not too bad. Anyway, once the milk was done – which I knew because the machine switches from a green cup symbol to an orange line to let me know it’s safe to open the lid – I took out the empty milk disc and put in the espresso disc. Once that was done, I had a beautiful cup of cappucino that just needed a little sweetener and it was perfect!

My oldest son loves hot chocolate and he can’t wait for me to get him some hot chocolate T-Discs so he can use the Brewbot too. I plan to buy T-Discs at Bed Bath & Beyond, where the price per package ranges from $6.99 to $9.99.  $9.99 divided by 8 means I get a freshly brewed cappuccino for only $1.24! Woo hoo!  Thank you thank you to Dan Klores Communications for not only hooking me up with this awesome coffee machine, but for saving me money too!

NESCAFE Dolce Gusto – I Want One So Badly!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nestle Dolce Gusto. All opinions are 100% mine.

I LOVE coffee. I love hot, iced, blended, flavored with creamer, mixed with steamed milk and syrup, you name it. The only way I don’t drink coffee is plain!  I’m so jealous of the 50 readers of divine.ca who got to test the NESCAFE Dolce Gusto machine which gives you a customized single-serve coffee drink right from home.

The NESCAFE Dolce Gusto machine brews one of eight coffee varieties – Caffè Lungo (a dark, strong roast that brews with a layer of cream on top), Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Mocha, Caffè Americano, Iced Cappuccino…and even a rich Hot Chocolate (Chococino). Each variety is contained in a special capsule made of 100% Arabica and ground roast coffee, vacuum sealed to stay fresh.

Coffeehouses use high-pressure machines to make espresso and coffee drinks; but many home machines don’t reach high enough pressure to make good espresso. The Dolce Gusto machine hfeatures a lever on the machine that controls the amount of pressure used to heat the water, the more pressure, the stronger the drink will be. Because I like my coffee strong, I like that feature.

The smallest Dolce Gusto machine is a compact size perfect for small spaces and it’s priced competitively at $99.99, the the machines get bigger and more pricier from there. If I could make the same quality drinks I spend $4.50 on at a coffeehouse, but from home? A $99.99 Dolce Gusto machine would pay for itself!
