Win $25.00 to your PayPal account from me!

This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to the two winners, Drew from The BenSpark, and Mary from Everyday Baby Steps. They are each getting $25.00 deposited into PayPal from me!

That’s right, I’m giving TWO WINNERS each $25.00 deposited to their PayPal accounts! What’s the catch? Well, I’m looking to drive traffic to Buzzillions, the consumer-driven product review site that I wrote about a little while ago. It was recently reviewed in the Wall Street Journal in a very well-written and thorough article, you can read it by going to http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122523215200077655.html.

GIVEAWAY: Buzzillions would like to know what you think of their site. So for your entry, please go to Buzzillions and browse the site. Scroll over the categories in the blue navigation bar at the top, read a few reviews. Buzzillions would like to know what you think, is the site easy to use and navigate, what do you think of the reviews?

IN YOUR COMMENT, write a sentence or two telling me what you think of the site. I’ll pick TWO people at random from all ELIGIBLE COMMENTS (meaning the comment tells me the name of a recommended product) and send each person $25.00 in their PayPal account. This is open to everyone who HAS A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. You do not have to give me your PayPal address in your comment; I’ll email winners directly for that info. Enter by Friday, November 7th. Any questions? Email me at table4five at gmail dot com. Good luck!

Buzzillions-Reviews Written by Real People

Now that I write reviews myself, I find that I look even more for what real people think about a product than I did before I started writing reviews. When I buy a book or DVD on Amazon.com, for example, I always scroll down and read the reviews. I find that in general, if other people liked something, I’ll probably like it to, and the same goes for negative reviews. Although, I would have preferred it if the reviews for the book “Breaking Dawn” hadn’t contained quite so many spoilers, thank you very much person who completely ruined the ending of the book that I HAVEN’T READ YET. Ahem.

Buzzillions takes the consumer-written review one step further in that it offers reviews of, well, pretty much everything. You use the “Affinity Recommendation Wizard” to select categories and then products, and then see what people who have used the product have to say about it. You can see what others say the “Best Use” of the product is (for example-camera lenses, whether they are best suited for indoor or outdoor use). You can search just for positive reviews (Pros) or negative reviews (Cons). You can get a “Review Snapshot” showing the average consumer rating for the product, or click to get read specific reviews.

You might even find, like I did, that you didn’t realize you wanted to buy something until you see it on the site and see how many other people like it! I was just browsing the “Toys” category, because I’m always looking for products that are educational, well-made, and fun. I found 26 reviews of a Step2 toy called “MainStreet Village Community Helpers“, and after reading the reviews, I’d like to buy it for Kaitlyn! If anyone has one that their kids don’t play with anymore, and you will sell it to me for less than $49.99, let me know! I also know from reading the reviews that the door of the barn falls off, which won’t stop me from buying it, but I won’t be surprised or upset when it happens, I’ll just take the door off.

In addition to reviews of Toys, other categories of reviews on Buzzillions are Electronics, Sports, Home & Garden, Shoes, Clothing, Health & Beauty, Baby Products, Pets, Office, and Green Products. You can easily spend an hour at a time just clicking around reading reviews! Don’t like something? Look it up and see if others are having the same issues! Create a profile on the site, and you can set up “personas” to help customize your recommendations. For example, I checked “Thrifty” or “Bargain Hunter” for the categories I’m most interested in, so I’ll see less expensive options first.

Keep in mind that just because other people don’t like something doesn’t mean that you automatically won’t like it either. But if you can’t decide between several of the same thing, or you’ve had a specific experience with a product and want to see if others have had the same experience, Buzzillions is a great site for getting unbiased opinions. Of course, you should read THIS blog first to see if I’ve already reviewed something! Check out Buzzillions!
