Capessa.com is a community focused on the thoughts, opinions, interests, and insight from real women. WOW!!!!! Is that a contest or WHAT?? I wish they would pick as many winners as they have prize packs though, because that means I’m competing to be the ONLY WINNER! Now, Capessa wants to know what I think of the site, right? So, let’s take a look at it:
My favorite part of Capessa is the blogs. “Confessions of a Middle Aged Beauty Queen” gives excellent tips on what products to use, and why you don’t need to spend a fortune on skin care products. “Travel Diva” has great tips for getting through airport security faster and with less stress. I also enjoy the videos which you find in the right column under “Related Stories”. What I like best about Capessa is that I can pop over there and whatever I’m in the mood for, be it something about beauty or parenting or health, I can read articles about just that topic without having to wade through link after link looking for just what I want. The site is very well organized and easy to search. I really can’t think of any suggestions for improvement!

I entered a makeover contest and you can too!
Written by Elizabeth on June 26, 2008 – 10:59 pm -Now, this is not something I had ever thought of doing before, but when I saw that Artefill was having a contest and giving away a $10,000 makeover, I figured it was worth a shot! The Artefill Makeover contest is for women over age 35 who have had a life changing event and want to look their best. Signing up is easy, but it does require that you write a short essay. I wrote about how I am the 41 year old mother of a toddler and she will be going to preschool soon, and I don’t want to look like the oldest mother at the school!
ArteFill is a procedure that fills in the smile lines around your mouth, by the way. I’m definitely starting to see those. I submitted my easy to the Contest, and you can too if you are over 35 and have had a career change, are in a new relationship, or any other event for which you want to put your “best face forward”. The contest judges will pick the winning essay and the winner receives a $10,000 makeover including:
* Consultation and ArteFill treatment* from a leading physician
* Other aesthetic treatments and products as recommended by the physician
* A professional photo shoot including hair, makeup and wardrobe styling
* A feature on our web site
* Subject to physician’s determination of suitability for ArteFill treatment
I hadn’t been thinking about a cosmetic procedure until I went looking for a photo to submit along with my essay and I realized that I really do have lines starting to form around my mouth. Writing the essay made me realize that I am self conscious about my age. Most people do think I look younger than 41, but my skin is definitely starting to look older. If I am lucky enough to win the makeover, it will be exciting to see what treatments I can receive to improve my complexion. Win a Diaper Bag Tote from Land’s End!

Edited again: Um, I forgot that I have FOUR bags, two of each color! So, congratulations to the other two winners-D from “BlakesMeme” wins a blue/green one (she’s a foster mother!) and Karen from “The S.A.L.T. Blog” (she gave birth to a girl on Tuesday, so what a great new baby gift!)
I am just crazy excited about this giveaway! You see, I have a little addiction to tote bags. As in, my husband says I have too many of them, but I don’t think needing a whole shelf in the linen closet just for my tote bags means I have too many, do you? Of course not! Some women buy shoes, I buy tote bags!
So when Land’s End contacted me-Land’s END, people-asking if I would like to give away four diaper tote bags, and of course I could have one for myself, I just about broke a nail typing back my “yes, PLEASE” reply. And then the package came and I saw what was inside and I just about passed out in my kitchen from sheer joy:
