Make Mother’s Day Gifts At A Free Michaels Workshop

Until I became a Mom, I never would have guessed that a homemade Mother’s Day card with flaking glitter and crayon drawings that show me with four teeth would mean so much to me. This week at Michael’s, there are free daily workshops where kids can make a personalized gift for their Mom (or other special person in their life). This is the schedule:

– Mon 5/4 – Corsage for Mom (6-7pm) FREE

– Tues 5/5 – Paper flower bouquet for Mom (6-7pm) FREE

• Using colorful papers you can create your own unique flower bouquet

– Wed 5/6 – Personalized coupon book for Mom (6-7pm) FREE

• What better way to show your love than giving Mom homemade “coupons” she can redeem for chores, nights out or even a massage!

– Thurs 5/7 – Mother’s Day card making (6-8pm) FREE

• Using this cute template you can color your own memorable card for Mom with your own masterpiece inside

– Fri 5/8 – Wooden frame for Mom (6-8pm)

• Create a thoughtful frame for Mom to hold her favorite picture of you

• Purchase any of $1 wood frames and decorate for free using our supplies

– Sat 5/9 – Make it for Mom Bead Event (1-4pm Three Make-it Take-its) FREE

• Come learn the latest trends and techniques and create gorgeous gifts for Mom, or even bring Mom and create together

– Sun 5/10 – Mother’s Day Wilton Cookie Decorating (1-4pm) FREE

• Bring Mom and Grandma in and decorate a cookie you can eat or take with you

This weekend only, March 20-22, Sears has a printable coupon you can use to save an additional 15% off on regular, sale and clearance priced apparel, shoes and accessories. Has it been a while since you shopped at Sears? They carry name brands like Lee and Levi’s Jeans, classic fashions from Dockers, and even tough work clothes from Carhartt, plus their own labels like Canyon River Blues and Apostrophe. The prices are already super reasonable, and now this weekend you can save even more!

What I like best about shopping for clothes at Sears is that they have a Women’s Plus department, which means the clothes fit my, um, fuller figure. They even have pants in Women’s Plus Petite, which means the pants fit my, um, fuller figure AND aren’t too long. It’s a win-win for me right there :) Check out the great deals at Sears on clothes. Win a Stonyfield Farm Yogurt Prize Pack!

I used to buy another leading brand of yogurt (rhymes with cannon) until I was contacted about reviewing Stonyfield Farm Organic Yogurt. I used the coupon I was sent to purchase a quart of fat-free vanilla, used some of it in a recipe, and left the rest in the fridge. A few days later, my 12 year old informed me that I should only buy Stonyfield Farm from now on because it was “so much better” than that other brand. Well alrighty then!

I used the yogurt I bought to make brownies. If you’ve never tried No Pudge brownie mix, you really need to get some the next time you are craving brownies. All you do is mix it with fat-free vanilla yogurt and bake, and you get fudgy, delicious, guilt free brownies!  The Stonyfield Farm website has a link to more recipes, including one from my friend Anne-Marie from This Mama Cooks!
