Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair

This is the Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, which I received from Family Review Network:

It’s a one-piece, handheld, lightweight way to sweep pet hair off of your furniture. There’s a collecting chamber on top, and two roller brushes underneath.

This is our cat, Blackdrop. She lives on the top of our living room couch:

The Fabric Sweeper has arrows on the top to show you which way to move it across furniture. You use short strokes going back and forth, and the brushes pick up the pet hair and deposit it into the collection chamber. I found that it took some extra handling on my part to get the rollers to ‘let go’ of the pet hair, this is what they looked like after my first couple of swipes across the top of the couch:

The directions say to run the rollers over a clean part of the upholstery to get the hair moving into the collection chamber, but I chose to use my fingers to move the rollers, plus I had to pick a few extra-long dog hairs off. This was the collection chamber when I was done:

When the chamber is full, you throw it away. For a retail price of around $5.49, if you have pets, you need to keep one of these on hand. Not only does it make your furniture cleaner, but if someone calls and says hey, I’m on my way over to visit, it’s SO much easier to grab this than to drag out your whole vacuum cleaner hose attachment thingy just to de-fur your couch.

Beethoven’s Big Break

The first movie starring the loveable St. Bernard named Beethoven came out in 1992. It was a smash hit. The film was followed by four sequels- Beethoven’s 2nd which was released to theaters in 1993, and three more sequels that were direct-to-video films (Beethoven’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th). With dogs so popular in media today-think “Marley & Me”, “The Dog Whisperer”-Universal Studios Family Productions thought this would be the perfect time to renew the Beethoven franchise with a fresh new movie, called Beethoven’s Big Break.

beethovens-big-breakJonathan Silverman (“The Single Guy”) plays animal handler Eddie, who has a strict NO PETS ALLOWED policy at home and won’t let his son Billy keep adorable stray dog Beethoven and his family of puppies. But when dog-nappers steal the canine star of the movie Eddie’s working on, the studio big shots must quickly find a replacement and unexpectedly cast the Beethoven as their next big star.

Through his rambunctious antics and larger-than-life personality, Beethoven not only crashes into Hollywood but into Eddie’s heart as well. Beethoven’s Big Break also stars comedy stars Moises Arias (Rico on “Hannah Montana”), Daytime Emmy ® winner Jennifer Finnigan (“The Bold and the Beautiful”), Rhea Perlman (“Cheers”), Joey Fatone (“Dancing with the Stars,” ‘N Sync), Stephen Tobolowsky (“Heroes”), Oscar Nunez (“The Office”), Eddie Griffin (Undercover Brother) and Cesar Millan (“The Dog Whisperer”) in his feature film debut!

How Beethoven gets his name:

Pick up this fun family movie!
