Twilight Barbie Bella Doll

Well, it was only a matter of time before Mattel took advantage of the Twilight craze and came out with dolls. I saw the Twilight Barbie Bella Doll and the Twilight Edward Doll at Target over the weekend. What’s interesting to me is that while the Edward doll at least sort of looks like Edward, the Bella doll just looks like any other Barbie. I would have thought they would have tried to make it a little more, well, Bella-looking.

Twilight Barbie Bella comes dressed in a blue-grey jacket with four pockets on the front and a gold zipper, dark wash jeans, and silvery tennis shoes with white soles. She has long dark hair. Twilight Edward is wearing a blue button-down shirt, a grey wool peacoat, dark wash jeans, and black lace up shoes. He has brown hair that stands up on the top and the doll’s skin is a lighter color than the Bella doll.   You can buy each doll separately or together in a two-pack.  Check SHOP.com to compare prices from different retailers carrying the dolls. These are great gift ideas for Barbie collectors and for fans of the Twilight movies!  Price: around $25.00

Pop ‘N Swap with Polly Pocket

polly pocket pop n swap
The official name of this toy is Polly Pocket – Pop ‘N Swap Fashion Frenzy Superset, and it’s a fun way for kids to mix and match clothes without changing their own clothes half a dozen times a day. I guess I’m super lucky, because so far my daughter hasn’t insisted on wearing anything in particular or demanded to change her outfit. She will request certain shirts sometimes, but I don’t find her wearing mismatched clothes or bathing suits in the winter. She has occasionally surprised me though, like when she came out of her room wearing just pants and sunglasses and nothing else.

Each Polly Pocket Pop ‘N Swap kit comes with two doll heads and lots of clothes and accessories, plus stands to hold up the dolls so they can “model” their fashions. Your little fashionista can mix and match florals and polka dots to their heart’s content. And maybe then they won’t mind when you make them go back in their room and change out of the completely mismatched outfit they picked to wear to school.

Want to participate in this Parent Bloggers Network Blog Blast? Here’s how to participate:

Write a post on your blog telling us about those mismatched outfits that were creative at best, crazy at worst, and how you help your kids express themselves in positive ways.
