Baby GoGo Doll Perfect For Boys Or Girls – Review And Giveaway

When I was pregnant with Nathan, Ryan was two.  Chris and I talked to him a lot about babies, how they had to be held, and fed, and have their diapers changed, and I decided it would be good to get him a baby doll so I could show him what Mommy would look like holding a baby. We went to the toy store to look at dolls, and I discovered that there were lots of dolls dressed in pink that came with pink rattles and pink bottles, but there weren’t any that appealed to a boy. I wouldn’t have had any problem having Ryan carry around a pink doll, but it just didn’t appeal to him. I got him the least pink doll the store had, but it didn’t hold his interest for very long.

Thanks to Baby GoGo from Little Sib, there’s a new look to baby dolls that will appeal to both boys and girls!  Baby GoGo gives a fresh look to the traditional baby doll by doing away with pastel colors and giving the doll a bright, contemporary look. Sized just right at 13 inches, Baby GoGo has a soft body and comes dressed in white with orange accents, holding a soft white blanket. Baby GoGo meets all toy safety requirements and comes in recycled packaging to be environmentally friendly.

The Baby GoGo Goes Home Doll set comes with the doll, blanket, and the book Baby GoGo Goes Home, which is a cute little book that tells the story of a baby coming home from the hospital, meeting the family, and getting the nickname “Baby GoGo”.  It’s perfect to give to siblings about to welcome home a new brother or sister!  You can buy the doll set from the Baby GoGo website and on Amazon.com for $39.99. I also recommend the Diaper bag which comes with a cloth diaper and room to tuck in other special treasures, it’s $24.99 on the Baby GoGo website and Amazon.

Baby GoGo was also named one of the best Family-Friendly Products by the Mom’s Choice Awards! I personally recommend Baby GoGo as a high-quality doll that any child will love!

Holiday Gift Guide- Our Generation Dolls exclusively at Target

Our Generation Katelyn Figure Skating DollBefore you spend $80 on a doll for Christmas, take a look at the new Our Generation Deluxe Dolls sold exclusively at Target. Battat Inc. has debuted six dolls that “celebrate today’s girls and tomorrow’s leaders”.  Each of the dolls’ books tell a story about an experience girls can relate to, whether it’s learning to ice skate or dance ballet, starting a new school year or making friends.

With their own hardcover storybook and tons of accessories, girls ages 3 and up will be thrilled to get an Our Generation doll has a gift this holiday season!  The suggested retail price is $32.99, I believe Target is selling them for $29.99, which is a GREAT DEAL!

Thanks to Battat Inc., we received the Katelyn doll for review-perfect, of course, for my Kaitlyn! She was BLOWN AWAY when I pulled the box out of the shipping carton. I couldn’t get that doll out fast enough (and be warned, you’ll need scissors to snip tabs and threads holding everything securely in place).

We had to (coincidentally) head to Target to pick up a prescription, and Kaitlyn insisted that Katelyn had to come with us. She had me put on the mittens and earmuffs so the doll would “stay warm”, and when we got to Target, I told her the doll had to stay in the car-I didn’t want Target to think we had shoplifted it! So Katelyn stayed in the carseat to “take a nap”.  We then talked all about how Kaitlyn was going to introduce Katelyn to all her other dolls!  I can’t find my camera card reader but when I do, I’ll upload a photo I took of Kaitlyn and Katelyn all ready to go :)

    Description of all six dolls:

    • Lily Anna is the Horseback Riding Doll who solves a mystery at the ranch in “The Adventures of Shelby Stables”. She comes with equestrian accessories, lemonade stand goodies, a red dress and a riding outfit, and more.
    • Eva the Detective Doll solves “The Mystery of the Vanishing Coin” using her included camera and case, backpack, tote, mug, pen, and pad.
    • Hally the Back-to-School Doll finds a fortune in a cookie that has her questioning how she’ll survive fourth grade in “One Smart Cookie”. She comes with an extra outfit, a water bottle, backpack, and report card.
    • Sydney Lee the Ballet Doll helps girls learn what true “Star Power” means in “Stars in Your Eyes”. She comes with both practice and performance ballet clothes, a bag, granola bar, 4 invitations, and water bottle.
    • Mary Lyn the Music Recital Doll discovers a note her grandfather left after he passes away, and embarks on an adventure to figure out “The Note in the Piano”. She comes with a song book, violin, harmonica, music sheets, and playing cards.
    • Katelyn the Figure Skating Doll is headed to a skating competition with her family when a blizzard strikes in “Blizzard on Moose Mountain”. She comes with both practice and performance skating clothes, shoes and ice skates (the blades are not real!), water bottle, MP3 player, earmuffs, medals, flowers, and mittens.

Take it from me, if you have a girl age 3 and up to shop for and she likes dolls, head to Target and snap up an Our Generation Doll!

Only Hearts Club Girls and Li’l Kids Dolls

The toy industry’s hottest new dolls, the Only Hearts Club™, is a content-based brand of real dolls for real girls that is drawing raves for combining beautiful, real-looking dolls, with content that delivers a much-needed, positive message to girls. Only Hearts Club™ dolls look and dress like real girls, and they deal with the same experiences and issues as well. Most importantly, through a series of books, the Only Hearts Club™ delivers a very positive message and image – namely, that it is good to “listen to your heart and try to do the right thing.”

The Only Hearts Club™ consists of a diverse group of bright, cute and energetic young girls – Taylor Angelique, Karina Grace, Olivia Hope, Briana Joy, Lily Rose, Anna Sophia, Kayla Rae and Hannah Faith – who live in the same community and have formed the Only Hearts Club™ in a bond of true friendship and with a pledge to one another to listen to their hearts and be nice to others. Each of the girls has her own personality and interests, wear age-appropriate clothing based on what girls actually wear, sport hip accessories that are fun and cool and that girls love to play with, while at the same time providing a positive image and message that parents and grandparents want their girls to see and hear.

These interests and personalities are developed further in a series of Only Hearts Club™ books. In each story, one of the girls is faced with a dilemma that requires her to think for herself, listen to her heart, and decide for herself to “do the right thing.” In addition to the books, the Only Hearts Club world consists of playsets, pets, and a new line of ponies, to enhance play and add fun!

I was thrilled to be asked to review these dolls with my 3 year old daughter. I showed her the Only Hearts Club website and asked her which dolls she liked best. She picked Taylor Angelique and Hannah Faith. When the package arrived, we were delighted to find that we had also received the adorable Only Hearts Li’l Kid Christy, as well as six of the adorable tiny Only Hearts Pets dogs. Kaitlyn carries those around in handfuls, and even takes them to bed. At the bottom of the post, you can see Taylor, Hannah, and Melody. Melody is shown in the new Bathroom playset, which we didn’t receive.

Each of the dolls features a soft fabric exterior and poseable limbs. I like that they look more like real girls, without the bizarre out-of-proportion body of other popular dolls. And they are fully clothed, BONUS :P

There are several different “lines” of the dolls, there are the Club dolls which each come with a pet, there are the Fashion dolls, and there are the Theme dolls, the latter two don’t come with a pet. The Theme dolls come with a miniature book that goes along with the outfit, so for example, Briana Joy™ wears a Soccer Outfit and comes with the miniature book, Teamwork Works. These dolls are a great way to encourage a girl’s interests, and help her see that she can have friends with interests different from hers. I just love the whole concept behind these dolls!

The Only Heart Pets are a fun, inexpensive way to indulge my daughter’s love of tiny toys. Target had a large variety of the Pets available this past Christmas in the seasonal section, and in addition to dogs and cats, we found a sheep, a red pig (named Smokey!), a lion, a koala, a frog, and a cow. At $2.99 each, I’ve been adding to our collection a few at a time since Christmas, and I think we almost have all of them now!taylor_club
