MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: THE FRIENDSHIP EXPRESS on DVD

THE FIRST DVD RELEASE OF THE NEWEST MY LITTLE PONY ADVENTURES!

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: The Friendship Express came out on DVD on February 28th 2012 from Shout! Factory in collaboration with Hasbro Studios. All three of my kids LOVE MLPFiM, even my teen sons! They were excited when we got this DVD to review.

Featuring 5 pony-riffic episodes, Friendship is Magic: The Friendship Express also has bonus features such as Meet the Ponies, sing-a-longs and coloring sheets. It will also include “Yipper Caper,” the very first episode of the new Pound Puppies series.

In My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: The Friendship Express, the benevolent Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria, selects unicorn Twilight Sparkle for a very important assignment – to learn about the most important magic of all: friendship. With her new friends, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, Twilight sets out on amazing adventures, and they all learn what it means to be true friends.

The My Little Pony Friendship is Magic series is currently airing on The HUB.

Hasbro’s Elefun & Friends Games- Scatterpillar Scramble and Giraffalaff Limbo

Hasbro has a new collection of five games called Elefun & Friends for younger kids, and sent us two of them for review. We’ve been having so much fun playing Scatterpillar Scramble and Giraffalaff Limbo! Either or both of these would be a terrific holiday gift!

Scatterpillar Scramble Giraffalaff

Scatterpillar Scramble looks easy enough when you first take it out of the box.  Using a pair of plastic tongs, pick up a colored ball and place it in one of his outstretched hands. But then you put in the batteries and turn him on, and Scatterpillar starts dancing, and wiggling, and getting the balls into his hands gets a whole lot harder!  Even my 13 year old said it was fun trying to pick up the balls with the tongs and get them onto his hands. Includes Scatterpillar body, base, 36 colored marbles, 4 tongs, label sheet and instructions. Requires 3 AA batteries (not included). For 2 to 4 players ages 4 and up. WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not For Children Under 3 Years. Price: $19.99. Available from HasbroToyShop.com or in stores.

ScatterpillarBody

Giraffalaff Limbo is the hilarious bend over backwards game! Assemble the green support poles, clip on the leaves, and hang Giraffalaff’s bar from the highest set of leaves. The spinner says which of 6 moves to use to get underneath him without knocking him down- classic limbo, crab walk, crawl, giraffe walk, bend forward or backward. As you limbo, you’ll hear steel drum-type music. Knock Giraffalaff down and he erupts into hilarious giggles! Includes Giraffalaff plaque with 2 clips, 3 foam tubes, electronic module with support tube, 8 leaf bar supports, two 3-piece limbo poles, two bases, spinner and instructions. Assembly required. Requires 2 C batteries (not included). For 2 or more players ages 3 and up. Price: $27.99 Available from HasbroToyShop.com or in stores.

Sorry! Spongebob Squarepants Edition

Sorry! has always been one of my favorite board games, and now it’s had a Bikini Bottom upgrade with the new Sorry! Spongebob Squarepants Edition from Hasbro. In the game of Sorry!, up to four players race to be the first to get all of their pieces “home”. In the Spongebob edition, the home bases are Spongebob’s house, Patrick’s house, Squidward’s house, and the Krusty Krab.  Players choose whether to play as Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward or Mr. Krabs. You draw cards to determine moves, and the cards feature funny quotes from each character. We had fun playing it on Saturday night:

SpongeBob Sorry

Kaitlyn had more fun just moving the pieces around, she had very definite ideas about who should go where on the board, so we really didn’t play the game by the traditional rules, but it was still fun!

Hasbro’s Sorry! Spongebob Squarepants Edition retails for around $18.00, pick it up for your next Family Game Night or for a great gift for a Spongebob fan!
