Lands’ End Harbour Island Twitter Event

 Lands’ End, the Island of the Bahamas, and iexplore.com are hosting a Twitter Event this Wednesday from 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. CST. Lands’ End is sponsoring a contest with a Grand Prize of a trip for four to the pink-sand beaches of Harbour Island! 25 additional winners will win a $100 Lands’ End gift card and tote!

To enter, go the The Hub and choose one of three ways to submit an entry – by first playing a letter unscrambling game, voting in a poll, or taking a quiz. A new window will pop up; don’t forget to click the “Enter” link at the bottom right of the new window.

Lands’ End Coats for Men and Boys

Lands’ End has joined forces with the National Coalition for the Homeless for the Big Warm-up. The Big Warm-up provides an opportunity for people across the nation to donate a gently used coat that will then go on to warm one of more than 3.5 million homeless women, men and children in the United States right now – each facing a cold winter.

Beginning October 29 until November 30, Lands’ End is hosting Big Warm-up coat donation sites at its 252 Lands’ End Shops at Sears and 13 Lands’ End Inlets®. Donated coats will be distributed via the National Coalition for the Homeless in communities nearby. To further encourage donations, Lands’ End is giving 20 percent off the purchase of a new coat for each one donated.

For your purchase, I have some suggestions.  My boys are toasty warm during their walk to the bus stop on these cold mornings thanks to the generosity of Lands’ End, who sent a Men’s SnowSystem Jacket for Ryan and a Boys’ Sport Squall Parka for Nathan. They didn’t ask me to do anything specific in return, but these coats are so awesome, I have to tell you about them!

The Lands’ End Men’s SnowSystem Jacket is two jackets in one, with a waterproof, breathable outer layer and a Zip-out inner jacket with PolarThin™ insulation and DriOff™ finish. Worn together, this jacket is rated for -10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning it will keep the wearer toasty warm in almost any cold climate. Lands’ End Sun Life

Summer is coming and that means our kids will be spending more time out in the sun, and that means thinking about keeping their skin safe. With that in mind, Lands’ End has a new Sun.Life collection, a full line of adjustable, breathable, and comfortable clothes for the entire family with an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) rating of 30 or 50, which protects 96.7 to 97.5 percent of the sun’s harmful rays. In fact the reason Lands’ End created this new line of clothing is because according to a recent Lands’ End survey of 1,400 moms across the country more than eight out of ten (87 percent) believe sun protective clothing for the family is important.

landsendSince my 10 year old son is already spending a lot more time outside now that Michigan is finally heading into Spring, I got him the Boys’ Short Sleeve Sun Life T-Shirt. You can tell the material is breathable, and he said it was very comfortable to wear. The line also includes clothing for Men, Women, and Girls, all with 30 or 50 SPF protection.
