New Choices from Lunchables

I admit it – I buy my kids Kraft Lunchables once in a while. They like them, and everything that’s in a Lunchable is the same kind of food we eat already. Sure, I could buy crackers, meat, cheese, a juice pouch and a treat separately, but to my kids, eating those foods out of a Lunchables tray is just more fun!

I also admit that the fat and sodium content of original Lunchables concerns me, so I buy the Lower Fat Turkey and Cheddar or Ham and Cheddar Cracker Stackers. Since those come with lean meat, reduced fat cheese, and fat free pudding, I know my kids are getting less fat and sodium in the meal.

Now, Lunchables has new combos that kids will love and Moms will feel good about buying. Kids can choose from a Turkey, Ham, or Chicken with Cheddar sub with bread made with whole grain, with Tree TopĀ® Applesauce, Mini Nilla Wafers, spring water and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Singles. The entire chicken and cheese sub meal is only 250 calories and 6 grams of fat! Sodium for all three is no more than 30% of the daily value for a 2,000 calorie diet, which most kids are probably getting in an entire day.

I was very happy to see that the new combos include our favorites, Turkey and Cheddar and Ham and American Cheese with Crackers. The Turkey variety comes with Tree TopĀ® Applesauce, Mini Nilla Wafers, spring water and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Singles. The Ham variety includes Sugar-Free Jell-O, Chewy Chips Ahoy! Cookies, spring water and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Singles. For kids who like to dunk, look for the 100% white meat chicken strips with both ranch dressing and barbecue sauce for dipping, Dole mandarin oranges packed in fruit juice, spring water, a Kool-Aid fun fizz tablet, and a crispy rice treat.

My daughter likes Lunchables because everything is bite-size and she feels like it’s a treat just for her. I like the new combos that are lower in fat and still give her the fun lunch she wants. Look for new Lunchable combos from Kraft Foods at your favorite store now!
