Part chemistry set, part spa-in-a-box, the Magnificent Manicure Kit is a new product from Scientific Explorer, a division of Elmer’s, that teaches kids cosmetic chemistry! The kit comes with lotion, crystal mud, and bath salt bases, fragrance, green dye, toe separators, a nail buffer, a a pumice stone, tools for mixing and measuring, and an activity guide. With this kit, girls ages 8 and up can see the science behind making beauty products, and then pamper themselves with the results!
Kaitlyn is still a little young to participate in an activity like this, although she did enjoy stirring the dye into the lotion base. The activity guide suggests asking older kids questions like whether the crystals feel like a solid or a liquid, and explaining the difference between unsaturated, saturated, and supersaturated. It also includes facts about nails and helpful tips.
Walmart.com has the Elmer’s Magnificent Manicure Kit for $17.88. There are two fragrance scents available, Lavender and Cucumber Melon, check the package description to make sure you get the one you want. This is a great gift idea for the holidays!
disclosure: I received the Magnificent Manicure Kit free from Elmer’s and Team Mom for this review. No other compensation was provided and all opinions are my own.
