Spin City Season One DVD

spin-cityWhen it premiered in 1996, Spin City was an instant hit. Co-created by  Bill Lawrence (creator of “Scrubs”) and executive producer Gary David Goldberg (executive producer of “Family Ties”), the show starred Michael J. Fox as Mike Flaherty, Deputy Mayor of New York City. He serves as the key strategist for Mayor Randall M. Winston Jr. (Barry Bostwick), and his staff is an eclectic group-Richard Kind (“Mad About You”) is the nervous, insecure Press Secretary, Alan Ruck (“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”) is the sexist, insensitive Chief of Staff, Michael Boatman (“Arliss”) is a gay activist running the Minority Affairs department, Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”) is an efficient but man-crazy accountant, and Alexander Chaplin (“Scrubs”) as the idealistic young speechwriter. Other actors who appear include Heather Locklear and Carla Gugino.

* Commentaries by Cast, Creators and Crew

I didn’t watch Spin City regularly, 1996 was when Ryan was born and I barely had time to shower let alone start watching a new TV show, so I was very glad to get the box set. I’ve always loved Michael J. Fox, and from what I’ve read on Amazon and in the show guide that comes in the box set, Spin City is a DVD I’m sure to enjoy watching.  If you’d like to pick it up on Amazon, here’s a link to the Amazon page- Spin City: The Complete Season 1.
