Yoplait “Save Lids to Save Lives” Prize Pack Giveaway

One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer within her lifetime – our friends, wives, mothers, sisters, neighbors – and this year, the fight against breast cancer starts right next door.

That´s because, through Save Lids to Save Lives, Yoplait will donate ten cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for each pink lid redeemed both online at Yoplait.com and via mail by December 31, 2011, up to $2 million. Plus, Yoplait is tracking pink lids redeemed by zip code to make sure funds generated from your lid collection go back to local breast cancer programs in your community. Here´s how you can support your local community´s fight:

- Look for special pink lids on pink Yoplait yogurt cups, in grocery stores in September and October

- Save your pink lids and redeem them via mail, or – for the first time – redeem them online at Yoplait.com. Make sure you enter your zip code when redeeming lids online!

On Yoplait.com you can dedicate your lid to a woman who means something to you, read inspirational stories about those making a difference in the fight against breast cancer and find out how to support your local Susan G. Komen Affiliate. During the past 13 years, Yoplait has donated more than $30 million to the breast cancer cause through all of its breast cancer initiatives.

Cheerios New Author Contest Info And Giveaway

My Dad eats a bowl of Cheerios almost every morning, and over the years he has collected quite a pile of the little storybooks out of the boxes.  First Ryan read them, then Nathan, and now Kaitlyn is sounding out the words in books like “No Dogs Allowed!” by Sonia Manzano, “Sylvester and the Magic Pebble” by William Steig, and “Click Clack Moo” by Doreen Cronin. By partnering with publisher Simon & Schuster, Cheerios is putting some of the best books written for children today into the hands of kids and their parents.

We’ve been enjoying “How Do You Hug A Porcupine” by Laurie Isop, who was the 2009 winner of the Cheerios New Author Contest. In this cute rhyming book written in both English and Spanish, a little girl has fun hugging all kinds of animals while a little boy wonders how the heck to hug a porcupine – the answer is found on the last page! Laurie, a small business owner, mother of two boys, and aspiring author since the age of 12, can now add “published author” to her resume. In addition to her book being featured in more than three million specially-marked boxes of Cheerios, it will also be available in bookstores nationwide beginning this July.

    Super-Quick Giveaway! Win Mozaik Reusable or Disposable Dinnerware

    Raise your hand if you ran out of dishes over the holidays!  On Thanksgiving, when we had Chris’ family here and therefore more people than plates, I was grateful that Mozaik, through MyBlogSpark, had sent me their 40 piece Service for Eight.

    Mozaïk  plastic party ware can be washed and reused, or simply disposed of. It provides a fashionable, affordable alternative to paper plates and fine china. Mozaik’s new Service for Eight kit is great to have on hand for when your guest list is larger than your china and flatware collection! The 40-piece “party in a box” adds eight place settings (forks, knives and spoons, salad plates and dinner plates) and is great for every holiday gathering from a small cocktail party to a large holiday buffet.

    Because I feel too guilty about throwing something that is still useful away, I’ve opted to reuse my Mozaik products. They can be hand washed or go in the dishwasher on the gentle cycle.  We’ve been reusing the silverware and plates for the party kit since Thanksgiving, and the only signs of wear are a bit of the gold colored trim around some of the plates is starting to rub off.  The silverware is still looking shiny even after being vigorously hand-scrubbed.

    The only complaint I have is that the plastic bowl has a sticker on the INSIDE of the bottom, which you can see in the photo above. After peeling off the sticker, I was left with a sticky residue at the bottom of the bowl.  I’m still trying to find a safe way to remove it, obviously I can’t use Goo Gone or nail polish remover!  But just so you know, if you win this giveaway – there’s a sticker on the inside of the bowl that leaves residue behind.
